      Bruce, thanks for clarifying that.

We had a good package for Trent FM/Leicester Sound FM from TM Century in 1988, our first full US packages for our FM stations; maybe you were singing on those !? :-)

Does ANYONE have a copy of the Energy 103 Dublin package?

Len, I only sang on select custom packages at C-21/TMC during that time, as I could only sing on stuff when I was in Dallas producing them (I lived in Chicago during those years). So again, it wasn't me (but it may have been one of my packages, as I was doing 90% of their jingles at the time).

Hi Len – hope you're well.

Have found these lurking on my hard disc – some video of the Trent TM sessions that used to be up elsewhere on the net, back in the days of Dave Hemsley's Jingle Ark site. I'm not sure if you've seen these before but i thought it would be nice to show how good the sound was on the Trent stuff.

Looking back at the video, the vocal group looks like it's got (although don't quote me on this) Jim and Greg Clancy,Brian Beck,Johnny Hooper, and the ladies look like Kay Sharpe,Abby Anderson and Jackie Dickson – although they're obscured by the mike and music stands. I'm sure Bruce will correct me if wrong !

By the way,the Energy 103 stuff is great – I have about a 4th generation copy of it on a hissy cassette but would love to hear those JAM cuts again in the clear in really good quality…..anybody in the Emerald Isle harbouring a quality copy of those cuts?

And for another example of the Dallas sound, here's the Thompson Creative promo from 1993

            Spot any familiar faces there?

But you're not wrong! The usual third girl during that time period would have been Robin Brown (who sang a lot of the K-Lite solo cuts some of you like so much), but I remember Craig Turner telling me that Jackie was subbing from time to time (and that's Craig engineering the session).

I'd never seen these videos, and was slightly startled when I heard myself counting-off the cut. That was a great vocal studio – one of my favorites. I also saw about two seconds of Bob Shannon, who as you know, is Zone's official social chairman here in the US.

                Big Dave

Great to see those vids, never seen them before!

This was 1988, the first Dallas Trent/Leicester Sound package, at Century 21. I set the package up and lyriced it, but I'd just had a trip to do the first GEM PAMS package (sung at TM) so David (later Lincs-IBA-Galaxy-LBC) Lloyd, went across for the 'trip'. He is seated on the left in the booth. He enoyed it but never wanted to go again, so as lyric writer I did the trips after that, a 'perk' of the job that disappeared in the 90's …

We bought cuts from two good C21 packages (WPRO / WAXY) , but shortly after that we were (finally) able to go to JAM, which gave us more control and choice and they ARE and WERE my No. 1 choice.

The singers are (in order) left to right: Jim Clancy, Brian Beck, Johnny Hooper, Greg Clancy, Abby Anderson, Kay Sharpe, and Jackie Dickson. At JAM the major difference was that we had the incredible Chris Kershaw to lead the group, Judy Parma who wrote the vocal parts. and Jackie and Abby swopped lead on AM and FM packages. Plus no one adds 'magic' to jingles like Jon.

These vids capture the CREAM of Dallas vocal talent.. GREAT people too.

                THANKS

It's good to know that Zone is diversifying its vocal styles. KEZK's vocals sound great.
