There is a Radio 2 Wogan trail running this week with a new jingle in it.
Anyone know if this means a new (about time) package is due ?

yes heard on the trail about pod-casting – perhaps he has spent some of his own salary on his own ident jingles, like some of the other djs who use the station package as well as thier own independent cuts

I know, all these bloody presenters getting paid loads and no new jingles, someone needs a good kick up the arse at that place!

i agree i love the news jingle, Theres no vocals but every time i hear it in my head i sing bbc radio 2 for some reason! I hope they keep it forever lol!

Also i found out in the paper JRoss gets 520K or something like that for 3 hours a week. WOW.

Anyone know roughly how much one radio 2 resing cut would cost as i have a radio 2 mad mate?

Being a jingle fan ofcourse I would like a new R2 package at some point but why bother at the moment – it works for them, they’ve had a few updates and the audience figures keep going up – the branding must be working for them.

true – the imaging at radio2 does work, caters for the variety the station outputs – though its 8 years old still sounds great & they do add a new mix in now & then (and still sought after by fans)

I heard that an inquiry to Groove for a single cut resing was in the region of US$1000 !!!!!

Less of a pinch on your wallet is a ’76-’92 Radio 2 resing from JAM at US$250.

Even less of a pinch (a dozen or so pints of Stella) is the JingleDay singers (including special guest appearances by Dave Nightingale and Robin Blamires) down in the Gents toilet (great reverb) doing their “rendition” of a Radio 2 jingle which is supplied with the usual disclaimer “Any similarity to a jingle, whether living or dead, is purely coincidental”.

Your choice!
