Hey guys, I would like to know if their are any new updates from reelworld one? I haven’t herd anything new from them lately. please share by contributeing to this discussion.
March 18, 2012 at 10:24 am #82814IainJohnstonMember“Sharing” in the world of “Jingle Etiquette” is all about actually making one’s own audio contributions too – would be most interesting if you could let us all hear from your own Collection too please?
March 18, 2012 at 12:57 pm #82819simon_t123Memberagreed from wixy1360 there requests from jinglemadder jc_djmac are beginning to saturate the boards & I for one am getting ever so slightly CHEESED with that !!! wouldn’t be so bad if the threads had some audio to check out … Many of the things JC is after I just can’t see being ‘out there’ for us to enjoy a listen to, even more so as the company has shut up shop … anyway is it time for JM to initiate a “3 strikes & jog on rule” ??? …
March 18, 2012 at 1:52 pm #82823WAVAMemberJeez give the guy a break he’s only asking if there any updates so stop jumping all over him.Not everybody wants to talk about Pams or Jam ya know so if it doesn’t interest you don’t read it. To jc_djmac reelworld one updates every affiliate monthly so yes there is fresh cuts out there.
March 18, 2012 at 2:20 pm #82831simon_t123Memberahh but WAVA there’s asking & there’s asking … that’s all I’m saying PAMS = not my thing, JAM = yeah sometimes … Reelworld, N2Effect & M-Edge = yep getting more up to date there, so my tastes have nothing to do with it, it’s really just a friendly ‘nudge’ to echo wixy’s points about ‘sharing’ and ‘jingle etiquette’ which have also been made on JC’s many posts, perhaps all the N2Effect requests or RW One requests / discussion could be contained in just the one thread ? ’nuff said here anyway, I feel a bit ‘jumped on’ …
March 18, 2012 at 9:45 pm #82845jc_djmacOk guys I’m sorry. I forgive you all. anyways, KCYE 102.7 the Coyote just got it’s KILT package update from reelworld one. listen to the cuts below.
March 19, 2012 at 1:47 pm #82855IainJohnstonMemberWhat a horrendous and excrutiatingly painfull assault on one’s eardrums! %-(
Do people actually listen to any station with that wall of distorted cacaphony of noise for any more than a few minutes at a time (…no doubt the “reach” versus “peak audience” drones on other forums would have plenty to say…)?
Also, are the cuts available for re-sing IN ENGLISH?
March 19, 2012 at 3:41 pm #82857jonnoMemberAt the risk of sounding controversial .. I like the high energy sound of this imaging. Sure its not to everyone’s taste, and a long montage of such material would get a bit much but that’s not how it’s meant to be consumed is it?!
March 19, 2012 at 4:19 pm #82858IainJohnstonMember“but that’s not how it’s meant to be consumed is it?! “
I do agree Jonno – but the station there is a COUNTRY station – maybe I’m a bit out of touch now with American “contemporary” music, but does Country music today involve SCREAMING and playing at a frantic pace on every “record” (remembering that the “Devil Goes Down to Georgia” was at least 30 years ago) ?!?! Do such jingles as these actually sound “right” on a Country station, with the demographic of such stations listeners?
March 19, 2012 at 5:16 pm #82861glenI guess that us more mature (as in age) people don’t know what jingles are SUPPOSED to sound like.
And that’s not it!!March 19, 2012 at 5:56 pm #82866jonnoMemberGlen, I’m nearing my mid 40’s so am no longer a spotty youth and love and appreciate the quality and production values of jingles from the likes of JAM/TM/etc…
hey, at least these RW1 cuts don’t sing (or screech depending on your point of view) banal “wooo, yeah, oooaaahh” blingle lyrics
March 19, 2012 at 6:08 pm #82867BarrasIt`s not often I disagree with wixy 1360 but I think this example that aircheckdownloads.com has put together is a superb sample of how CHR jingles have made that cross-over onto country stations in the USA and even though I`m the die-hard JAM & TM fan, these Reelworld cuts sound great for this format, not “screechy” at all.
I wonder if it`s perhaps the way the Reelworld singers, sing the last note of their jingles, in this case, the sing on the number “eight” in KMLE Country 108, is this what`s putting some jingle fans off the Reelworld sound, the sing of the last note IS “high” and aggressive, compared to other jingle companies ?

Yeah, that’s generally my biggest turn-off with Reelworld jingles. That, and the fact that most of their jingles these days seem to follow a very strict formula that makes them blend into each other after a while. But I do think that their jingles tend to work well on CHR, Hot AC, and Country stations, and at least these cuts seem a little less formulaic and overtly high-pitched than some of their others. It’s mostly in the AC format where I really dislike their jingles, though obviously a lot of programmers feel otherwise. I also cringe when I hear them on Classic Hits stations.
March 20, 2012 at 12:14 am #82878bossjockMemberHaving listened to the KMLE “aircheck” above, I wondered, just for fun, how JAM country jingles would work in the same mix, so I thought I would give it a go….
March 20, 2012 at 11:28 am #82888IainJohnstonMemberWell, N’s “airchecks” do put the various packages above more into perspective at least.
Looks like “Country” is now effectively what once might have been called “rock”…On the KMLE first cut though – I haven’t a clue what the “lyric” at the front is? Subtitles in English required!
Apart from forever being branded as “the Asda Price package” , the CH4 Key 109 re-sings DO sound much better on the ears! (but please don’t tell Jonno there’s “woahs….” etc in there!)
N – CH4/Coast – its been a while since the “more economical ex-UK staff” took over the management of the 2 stations – do we know if they’ve retained the last re-sings you commissioned or have they gone elsewhere since then for their jingles & or “imaging”?
March 20, 2012 at 11:51 am #82891IainJohnstonMember“grab a hump and hang on” – thanks N – would never have worked that out even from “Camel..”…! at least its a “creative lyric” rather than the usual “Today’s Best…..” ZZZzzzzz stuff!
March 24, 2012 at 2:28 am #82944jc_djmacI agree. that’s how jingles are supposed to sound! I forgot to mention that KUSS US95.7 in San Diego, also used the WCTO Logo from their Reelworld One Country package. Also, before they used Reelworld one country, they did a resing of the KNIX 2003 package from Reelworld. got any cuts from both packages?
March 24, 2012 at 10:20 am #82947IainJohnstonMemberSo, what actual package dubs do you have in your Collection, that you can perhaps offer to swap in return for all the stuff you’re asking for from JMers?
March 24, 2012 at 4:15 pm #82954jc_djmacI do not have any cuts and/or package dubs in my collection for swap and/or trade.
March 24, 2012 at 7:11 pm #82962jc_djmacHere is a cut taken from the Reelworld KNIX Package for KFKF. Please listen and share your opinions. mor cuts are welcome.
March 25, 2012 at 3:25 am #82992TRC1Regarding the KCYE montage above, I’m sorry some of y’all don’t like it. That was one I made, and ever since I started recording stuff back in 2004 I’ve learned to try to cut out every bit of the songs as I possibly could, just to focus on the jingles (when making jingle montages). Though I do admit listening to that particular montage tends to give me a headache after a while too! But I think that’s partially due to the quality of the recording. It seems like it’s too heavy on the high end & it also has a slight bit of static. I was staying on “The Strip” and in both instances I’ve stayed there I just can’t quite get great reception from practically any station. I do still have all my audio from my 4 days there (over 52 hours worth!), so here’s more of a “scoped aircheck” version of some of the jingles in that montage, just to give a better example of how they’re using them on the air. I’m mainly including my favorite cuts: the TOH’s and weather bed (or in this case traffic bed)…
KCYE-scoped by TRC1March 25, 2012 at 2:54 pm #83001jc_djmacTo Trc1, nice job on the KCYE scoped air check!
March 25, 2012 at 3:39 pm #83002jc_djmacSay, I was wondering if their are any jingle montages for KILT Houston an KNCI? I haven’t herd any updates since their 2009 package update from Reelworld one country. Any updates from those stations? Also, after listening to the KCYE montage, I was kind of wondering what that package would sound like using the KILT logo, anyone?
April 3, 2012 at 7:57 pm #83321945KBAYguyAnyone have a montage of all the KODA/WSNI cuts?
April 4, 2012 at 11:01 pm #83341jc_djmacNo I don’t, sorry.
