Reelworld have two new packages on their site – a Hot AC package for KDMX (Mix 102.9) in Dallas, and a Rhythmic package for WKTU New York.
The KDMX package is pretty similar to the KHMX package from 2004, but updated to fit today's sounds. I thought KHMX '04 was one of their better efforts, and this one follows suit. It's refreshing to hear a nice musical package from them with clean, pleasant (not screechy) vocals that aren't drowned in effects or echo, and without every track beginning with a sonic logo. I'd actually consider using this if I were programming a Hot AC.
WKTU is a pretty typical CHR-type package for them, with shouts of “Ladies and gentlemen” and vocals drenched in effects. The tracks definitely sound contemporary and fit with the music, and at least there's some melodic variation. But I just don't see how effective these can be as ID's when you can barely even tell that they're saying “K-T-U” in some cuts. I liked their last WKTU package a bit more.

Nothing new here.February 19, 2011 at 6:06 am #77766coolntExcellent work again from ReelWorld.
February 19, 2011 at 10:28 pm #77782devswartzThis KTU package is insanely good. It blows their other KTU efforts, even the pretty good '05 package, out of the water. Considering pop music is trending more toward dance, some more rhythmic CHRs might pick this up.

February 27, 2011 at 4:34 pm #77934ViakennySão Paulo, Brazil's 89 FM has relaunched as Fast 89 FM, “the station on your rhythm”, after a 15-month naming rights agreement with Nestlé and its “Fast” ready-to-drink beverage line. they'll officialy relaunch at 6pm Brasília time (9pm GMT), but they're already using resings of the RW KTU 2011 package on their preview, which started at noon local time.
however, they still use the BFBS/Hallam/KMYI logo in many production elements (they previously used the RW Hallam FM package).
they stream online (I don't know if it works outside Brazil) at fast89.com.brFebruary 27, 2011 at 9:19 pm #77940Viakennyand Fast 89 has officially launched. they started playing the WKTU 2011 cuts they'll use at this first moment (cuts 1-3 and 7-, then their first song was… you guessed it, “I Gotta Feeling”!
to the other São Paulo-based members here, did anyone record that?actually, local website TudoRadio.com has it recorded (in WMA), here:

May 11, 2011 at 7:29 pm #78890ViakennyMetropolitana FM, at 98.5 MHz in São Paulo, and competing with Fast 89 and Jovem Pan 100.9 (a RW One client, with the KIIS logo), has just launched their KDMX resings (it just makes sense, since they've used the KHMX jingle package before they went Key 103 – the ReelWorld jingles, that is). they stream live at metropolitanafm.com.br, but I don't know if they stream outside Brazil.
