I have heard 3 new jingles on Radio 2 so far in 2005,all on the Jeremy Vine show.
2 are resings of old cuts but here is a brand new jingle which hopefully will be played without the voiceover.http://www.jinglemad.com/audio/users/6/0/New%20Radio%202%20jingle.MP3
Anyone know if it’s Groove Addicts again and whether there is much more new material for Radio 2 to come?

January 9, 2005 at 12:05 am #14848simon_t123MemberThe cut with the voice-over sounds vocally very different to the existing Groove Addicts stuff, could there be a new package or even a new producing company in the pipeline ???
Anybody have any “incklings” ?
Whilst on the subject of Radio 2, it seems to me that the old guard of presenters seem to stick with the original cuts and not much else, other presenters seem to use the new stuff, perhaps that’s all personal taste ?
The 2004 cuts are quite different to the orginal 1997 cuts, I like the new stuff, I like the old stuff too but I think not @ the same time, 2004 should have seen new cuts across the board with the ’97 cuts phased out. Either that or the ’97 stuff with re-sings should have stayed.
But in keeping with the topic here, it would be great if R2 picked up a new package from a new supplier, maybe Reelworld ? or some here may like them to go back to JAM….
Can’t recall the ’96 JAM stuff, my memory sticks with teh “all for you” package, so if anyone has a cut or two from R2 circa 1996 can you post please ? some one told me they were quite good, very fresh etc.
January 9, 2005 at 12:29 am #14849frankI reckon the new jingle is Groove Addicts because the other 2 new cuts I have heard are 1997 resings done for Jeremy Vine. But we’ll see!
As for your comments on the older stuff Simon,I do agree about the main presenters sticking to the same old cuts.Terry Wogan has yet to play a 2003 cut I think. And why does Ken Bruce go in and out of the news with the same jingle when he has so many others?
Mo Dutta,Tim Smith and recently Liz Kershaw seem to play a good variety of jingles however.
I too would like to hear any 1992-1997 material and am still after the 1990 package.Anyone…
