Their site can be found here:

      http://www.zoneradioimaging.com/

Their packages include Mix 101.5 in Raleigh and KS95 in Minneapolis, however the online demo doesn’t feature the killer top of the hour KS95 use, which I recorded from their stream and uploaded:

I was always wondering when that company would finally surface. I like the jingles. I listen to the station sometimes here in the Twin Cities. I have never heard the everywhere cut and the weather bed tho.

KS95 is also using the Radius Modular Promotion. The clip here is actually a resing of the jingles that KS95 is airing.

        Enjoy!

Well done to Bruce and Bob, so pleased you have finally decided to “come out” guys.

Great jingles with strong solo and group vocals, really like the Country package, very impressed indeed.

No mention of price though, will you be offering a single/personal cut program like JAM and TM for us non broadcast type?

Good luck with the project, not that you’ll need it if the opening demos are anything to go by.

Very, Very Good!! And I see David Arnold is the UK agent (someone was asking what he was up to a few weeks back) and Pors-Impact are dealing with the European side. Good luck to you all.

Yes, here we are! Out of the closet and into the fire. Thanks for all the kind words and well-wishes. We take our production very seriously (even if we don’t take ourselves seriously). We’re out to make good stuff. I’m glad you like and appreciate the weeks that each one of these packages shaves off my life!

Package prices are listed on the website (you have to scroll down to see them). No mystery, no guessing, certainly not for everybody. Complete package leases only.

We haven’t decided whether we’ll do personal cuts or not-no offense guys-we just don’t know if it’s going to be in the gameplan. DA is our UK storefront, and in the UK, we will defer to his opinion on the subject. In the US, you can throw tomatoes at me if we decide not to do them; I’ll take the hit. Stay tuned.

As for the jingles on Zone Radio Imaging…Excellent work, great tracks and really good vocals! Is it now time for Reelworld to move aside for the new kid on the block now? It will be interesting to see as time goes by

I love the jingles, expecially the WCMC Genuine Country package. But what is with the copyright warnings at the end of the demos? Damn! I’m almost afraid to listen to the demos, that might me violating one of their copyrights!

It’s called subtle humor. When I was assembling our first few demos I thought it might be fun to be a little different, and having the legal drivel at the end might be fun. It got your attention though, didn’t it?

While it’s presented tongue-in-cheek, we’re dead serious about protecting our catalog. Anything that’s meant to be circulated is presented in a downloadable fashion on the site (composite demos and lyric sheets). Everything else is behind a curtain. Nothing else is meant to be released to the general public. We can’t stop people from capturing station streams, but will control what we can. Perhaps we’ll cater to collectors at some point, but again-no offense guys-it’s not a priority right now.

Perhaps 10 years from now, we’ll get swallowed up by some other company and Topcat will get all of our masters and you can bug him about them :)

Cutting! The first projects from Zone are very promising. Still has that Dallas feel and sound but enough contemporary edge for evolving 21st century radio stations.

Something you’d like to have and break away from the normal stuff.

But Zone is not your usual NEW jingle company! Their jingles work!

Thanks to Jkubiak for sharing the MIx100.7 resings.

and to Mr . Upchurch and Mr. Shannon.
You’ve got a big market waiting!

HELP! I’ve logged onto this new site to check out the goodies you guys are raving about and when I push the jingle button, the page comes up with nothing listed. Could anyone give me an idea how to fix this? Note: I do have flash because I’m able to navigate and see everything else.

                          Thanks in advance.

The menu across the top of the jingle section lists the formats. The first one that appears is ‘chr/hac’; you can click the other choices if you like. Under each format choice is a package name(s). To the right of the package name graphic there is a round button with a downward triangle in it. Click on that button, and the page will reveal itself. Click on the options that appear to the right of the text portion and you will get the goodies. When you are done with one package, click on the round button and it will disappear. You can then choose to repeat the exercise with another package if you like.

Thanks Bruce. The other solution I found was I had to put my browser in full screen to see the stuff at the top of that section.

It was worth the effort too. Excellent stuff there. The vocals are right on the money and the harmonies blend to perfection. Question though. Do you find you can get the same results with your jingles with a 6 voice group as opposed to the old standard 7 voice?

Can’t wait to hear more. Thank you sir.

Thanks, I’m glad you like what we do.

If you’re going for that traditional ‘classic’ PAMS/JAM 7-voice sound, it’s not quite the same, you need 7 warm bodies for that. However, if the point is to simply have the full low bass presence in the vocal, 7 singers isn’t necessary, it can be done with 5 or 6. I’ve done 5-voice sings with Jim Clancy on the bottom (2 gals 2 guys + Jim) that sound full and very 7-voice-ish (‘The 70’s’ and ‘Goddard’s Gold’ under the ‘custom’ menu on our website were done that way).

I’ve given all the work available on the site a good listen now and I’ve got to say they are all damn hot! Keep up the high quality product and the profile and I’m sure British stations will be on the way soon to spend! The vocals cut through, they’re bright and big sounding – nice work!

Good luck to all at Zone – especially yourself and Bob!

                                    Bruce,

as you have read in this forum posting, several jingle enthusiasts/collectors (whatever you want to call us !) have praised your new venture at ZONE and I wanted to compliment you too. I think the jingles that I`ve heard so far on the ZONE website are superb and IMHO you and the ZONE are gonna rival the Big 3 companies in today`s jingle business.

Just as a side-comment Bruce, you mightn`t be aware of this but I was listening to DAB radio (Digital Audio Broadcasting) in the UK, I think you guys in the states call it HD (High Definition) radio…..ALL of the stations on DAB in the UK are using “voice/liners” to identify themselves at the top-of-the-hour, they desperately need some “sung” jingles to make their identity more noticeable and memorable. I hope with having David Arnold on board, we`ll get to hear some ZONE jingles on-the-air in the UK.

                                    Good luck !

                                    David Barras

Again, much thanks for the kind words and encouragement.

When DA is ready to go I’m sure you’ll begin to hear Zone jingles in the mother country. I have a lot of faith in him and he’s very excited to be a part of this new launch. Stay tuned.

Thanks, I’m glad you like the demos and the production values that go into their making. I decided that if we were going to be forced into making formal jingle demo presentations (I didn’t want to do them at first but people kept asking for them), that we might as well have fun with them. Personally, standard jingle demos bore me-maybe I’m too close to what goes in them. The client testimonial approach is so overused (what are they going to say, they hate them and they’re never coming back? Actually, THERE’S an idea for an interesting jingle demo-the package the station rejected but we’re selling it anyway-and it’s happened more often than you think). If I’m going to lose sleep making jingle demos against my will, mine are going to be left of center. You might not like ’em all-you might not get ’em all-but at least there’s a cut-by-cut section in the middle of it so you get to hear everything strung together just like the past 50 years. Gotta give the people what they want I guess.

I just realized that I’m addressing 7,000+ collectors who love standard jingle demo presentations. Oops.

                                                Couple of quesitons for you.

                                                1. Now that you’ve struck out on your own, do you still have any affiliation with the other jingle companies?

                                                2. (2 parter) From the end of recording the vocals and arrangements, how long does the post-production process usually take before you get the final draft, so to speak, to present to the client? Then, finished and sent?

                                                Thanks.

I never had any ‘official’ affiliation with anyone after 1992 (save the year with Thompson-1997), it’s just that TM Century commissioned the lion’s share of the radio jingle work I did, so the affiliation stuck. Bob and I did a lot of stuff together during that time, that was a big part of it. David Graupner was always a draw as well-he was good to me-I was good to him-everybody was happy.

On a custom package, the MO is usually 2-3 weeks demoing-writing-arranging-recording-premixing basic tracks along the way; 2-3 days from live overdubs/vocals to air.
