Was listening to Big Joe Henry on New Jersey 101.5 last night, and noticed new TM jingles in use, and all the classic JAM cuts seemed to be gone. Even the classic PAMS chime time jingle was different… what a shame.
April 19, 2015 at 4:18 pm #97640nleiboThat’s the end of an era—I remember NJ101.5 using JAM/PAMS since late 80’s…
April 20, 2015 at 5:20 pm #97648bobgreenradioMemberthe real pams cuts are classics, and would be missed by a segment of the listener base.
as for tm?
they are now the dynamo in dallas. busy and under new leadership, hot. youll see the future is reel & tm.
its all about ‘sound’ after allApril 20, 2015 at 9:08 pm #97650LenGroat“BobGreenRadio”
Your usual ‘JAM knocking’ eh?
My logic is that as NJ101.5 have used JAM for around TWENTY FIVE years THEY are the KEY company in the station’s growth and longevity – let’s wait 25 years and see what ‘Reel’ are doing then!
April 20, 2015 at 9:39 pm #97651mjb1124MemberThis change happened a few weeks ago. It does feel like the end of an era, but I suppose the writing was on the wall a few years ago when they added the new TM news/traffic/weather sounders (plus one sung ID) and changed their station voice. Plus, their music has moved away from the ’60s and dipped slightly into the ’90s, so it was probably time for a change. I thought maybe they’d get ’80s JAM cuts, but perhaps they want to distinguish themselves a bit more from nearby WCBS-FM and WOGL.
I’ll miss hearing the classic JAM material, but I do think the new TM stuff sounds pretty good. I believe that most of the new cuts come from the Milwaukee’s Oldies packages, but with a different (more “male”) vocal style that makes them sound better IMO. Reelworld certainly would have made for a much more jarring change. And the new “chime time” cut (or at least the vocals) actually sound a bit closer to the old WABC version, for what it’s worth.
April 21, 2015 at 1:51 am #97652MikeHowardNJ 101.5 is my local station (I used to listen to Chiltern Radio when I lived in UK). I really do miss the JAM cuts – they certainly had a lot more of them. Don’t get me wrong – I do like the TM cuts, there just don’t seem to be too many of them! I do notice a lot more voice overs. I wonder if it all simply comes down to cost cutting.
By the way – I really should ask the admin to change my username – I’m not related to 101.5 at all!!
April 21, 2015 at 7:41 am #97653nleiboI’m not in listening range–can anyone furnish an Air check with the new TM jingles–I would be interested in checking them out….

Drop us an email admin@jinglemad.com or a private message and we’ll get it sorted.
April 21, 2015 at 4:56 pm #97656Jeffrey T. MasonMemberIt seems like just yesterday when Neal Bowden, David Barras and I walked into JAM and found this sitting on the front desk, waiting to be shipped:
I’d sure love to hear the new stuff. I know they stream, but SOMEONE has to have scoped some down by now…
April 27, 2015 at 2:32 am #97673michiMemberI wonder if that KLAA package was for the sports station in LA or for the station in Louisiana.
April 27, 2015 at 4:19 pm #97675Jeffrey T. MasonMember830AM in Orange didn’t use the KLAA calls until 2006. So, maybe LA 103.5 in Tioga, LA? It’s a country station and that’s a country package. Makes sense…
