Anyone have some audio of this WMEE package? There’s a top of hour jingle from WMEE on tophour.net from December. It sure doesn’t sound like JAM though, maybe Reel World or N2Effect. There’s one up there from June also, which is from the WNCI package.

I also see legendary KEGL is now a Spanish Language station

Yep, big brother (Clear Channel) has struck yet again. First when they flipped from rock to “Sunny” now this. You’ve gotta wonder if the radio suits these days even care about a station’s history. And considering the population, is there that much money from that demographic group going to the advertisers? Hmmm? I guess if it can happen to the legendary WCBS, it can happen to any station. That’s my soapbox for today.

The December is N2 Effect. The June cut has the WNCI logo, but I don’t recognize the cut. It sounds like it may be JAM, what package though?
This is from an aircheck on Neal’s site, it sounds JAM to me, is it new?

January 14, 2006 at 7:03 pm #25575MarcMannetjeI think I recognize the WJYE logo melody in the cuts from WCOL, I am not sure if the station uses cuts from Soft Sensation.
I listened to KVIL … oops… I mean “the new lite 103.7”, and they only have spoken ID’s, even at TOTH… at least that’s what I’ve heard so far…

January 14, 2006 at 9:06 pm #25576DevawebMemberHello,
KVIL changed name just after Christmas, and at the moment there’s nothing sung on Lite FM that I’ve heard. Sunny 971 flipped late summer, in fact I’ve still got a cassette of it here that I’ve been meaning to send to our MP3airchecks guru for some time now! Sorry Neal.
Lite is nice enough to listen to, nothing offensive about it, in fact Dallas is pretty good for listening options. I flick between The Edge, Jack FM and Kiss FM a fair bit of the time, but there’s lots of others on my presets that I like as well, Mix 1029, KLUV, The Oasis, KLTY, the country stations as well. Too many to mention, and not enough presets to keep them all on.
And that’s just FM!
Oh, and while the KVIL logo may no longer be on air in Dallas, the syndication of the JAM and TM packages mean that it lives on around the world.

Just in case you guys didn`t catch this aircheck compilation I recorded from the Irving, Dallas area, which I put up on Jingle Mad some time ago, here`s the link again. This aircheck features all the FM stations that Chris mentions and listens to (lucky sod ! )
Lots of JAM, TM Century, Reelworld and liners from Brian James and others…

January 15, 2006 at 9:29 am #25581MarcMannetjeNo tvnutboy, I was just kiddin’! Hahaha, sorry to get you so confused.
I listened to the New Lite 103-7 and must say that the songs are fresh, as they promise in their moniker. And as an AC consultant I always tell my clients say what you do, do what you say, and that’s what they do.
Music4 in London (formerly known as Vibe Music) did a lot of cuts that could fit the New Lite in Dallas; does any one know if their work is being represented in the States?

Oh that’s sad to hear!
KVIL is a legend, but change can;t be stopped.
KVIL logo is so popular here in the Philippines in the form of Love Radio. An MBC station that syndicated the world famous AC logo, and up until now that decade old package is still being aired at Love Radio.
Love Radio like KVIL also evolved but drastically!
Love Radio then was an AC station, but then ratings dipped, so they had to upgrade into a HOTAC station, but they didnt dropped they’re jingles. Since it identified them as the only “Love Radio” which has just gotten better.
Proud to be Pinoy, Proud to be Jinglemad.
