Just received our iJingles order from TM. This is the Ignite KROC package. According to Chris (UK), this is the first time that the TM NEXT vocal group has ever sung on an Ignite package. These cuts came out really good and pretty close to the demo.

And decent and imaginative lyrics rather than nothing but a name/call.
Good stuff Michi!

Thanks. I still believe that jingles should be used for more than just identifying what you are listening to. A few years ago when I had Channel 4 Hot AC done, all five cuts were not only used as normal workhorse cuts, but each one also had a special purpose. The flexibility of that package allowed for that. It was a little more of a challenge for KROC, but it does highlight three “campaigns” that J1 does, our weekly top-40, “Sakura Springtime” (March & April songs about the spring and cherry blossoms, which are very much adored in Japan) and for the summer, which is a time when some really good songs come out and there’s a lot of celebrating going on in Japan.
The choice of KROC though was an afterthought. I originally wanted the new TM Nation Radio package, but TM was not ready to release it to syndication to iJingles at the time. I was also looking at the TM Next Hot AC package. Fortunately, Chris (UK) was able to pull this one off and the result was outstanding.
While J1 HITS could be considered as “CHR” format, Japanese pop, even current songs have a much wider net of styles and the normal “western” CHR packages produced today would be out of place with about 70% of the music. If we were Korean pop, then a modern CHR package would fit better. This package is a nice follow-up and upgrade to our Ch. 4 Hot AC package. Ch.4 HAC still has a place on J1 HITS. J1 XTRA, our Heisei-era (1989~2019) “retro” also runs Ch. 4 HAC along with JAM cuts (many, which were originally on J1 HITS, but with a “Xtra” shout added on the end, a la Radio 1 Vintage). J1 GOLD, our Showa-era (1926~1989, we focus on 60s/70s/80s) channel only has one sung ID at the top of the hour and it’s from JAM Back Seat Music.

Now, this is no April Fools joke! You pulled up something that’s incredibly awesome. ^^
You know, if iJingles made a comeback soon (temporarily or permanently), I’d definitely pick the KIIS Remastered package for my tentatively named station, “Tiger Radio”Thank you, Michi for bringing this masterpiece into the universe. ^^
April 1, 2022 at 7:35 pm #107432mjb1124MemberAlready complimented these elsewhere, but yes, these are great cuts. I always liked this package, lyrics are creative, and the NEXT vocal team nails the vocal sound in the best way! I’ve enjoyed all of the J1 cuts from JAM and TM.

I don’t mind the “filing windows” for iJingles as it allows them to schedule the sessions around the other work. I was told that the cuts would be delivered at the end of March. They were in my ears on 31 March. So, TM FTW!

April 4, 2022 at 7:03 pm #107440mjb1124MemberThere’s obviously some RW influence there (as there is with most non-RW jingles nowadays). But I find the vocals to be lighter, smoother, and more refined sounding compared to the majority of RW output (and a lot of other CHR packages including some of TM’s). The jingles as a whole also sound cleaner and more melodic than is the norm nowadays. Not saying that to bash RW, just an honest observation.

https://soundcloud.com/michelle-bradley-3/ignite-kroc-cut-1-extended-ramp-a-la-modeThat sounds pretty damn cool Michi Everything sits nicely!
The vocals are hot, smooth and intelligible without being screamy (or screechy) and the music is very catchy and melodic.
The new owners at TM have jingle heritage in their DNA, so its no surprise this came out so good. -
