There’s more new jingles today – so far I’ve heard some Priority One resings, a reworked version of Dan Taylor’s Positron morning show cut, and Ron Parker’s version of Warp Factor 14 (this time it was the short version without sonovox). Looks like JAM is here to stay on CBS-FM!
July 3, 2013 at 6:14 pm #90614glenBut because one station thinks that RW walks on water doesn’t they should go RW to get jingles.CBS-FM should stay with JAM so they don’t sound like everybody else in the market.
July 3, 2013 at 7:22 pm #90617IainJohnstonTo be fair Glen, once upon a time, almost every “popular music” station in New York City was running … JAM
But every JAM package in NYC then didn’t have the exact same vocal sound as their competitors’ stations ones perhaps?July 6, 2013 at 6:07 pm #90654glenI know I know
July 14, 2013 at 4:11 pm #90775mjb1124MemberHere are the new cuts I’ve heard on CBS-FM so far. It’s a mix of Z100 resings, Priority One, and even a few PAMS shotguns (I think from series 42). Plus a new version of the Positron morning show cut – this one based on the version that WABC actually used on the air. The DJ’s are having fun with the cuts too – there’s even one for the traffic (transit) announcer!
July 14, 2013 at 5:27 pm #90777MarcMannetjeThank you for that compilation Mike, well done!
July 14, 2013 at 7:37 pm #90778glenDo they use the DIA TOH?
July 14, 2013 at 8:25 pm #90780mjb1124MemberAs of today they are still using the TOH, weather, and a few others from Do It Again. A handful of cuts from Home of the Hits are also still in rotation, along with much of their previous 70’s JAM composite.
July 14, 2013 at 10:31 pm #90789jkthedjY’know, I’ve been listening to some of the “New” Classic Z-100 cuts that CBS-FM has been playing lately, and it just hit me…I’m Getting Old! What was once “Hot Rockin'” and “Flame Throwing” back then is setting the pace for “The Greatest Hits of All Time” today…Really makes you think (Especially if you’re a 20 or 30 something like me)
July 14, 2013 at 11:06 pm #90793mjb1124MemberYeah, Classic Hits stations are definitely evolving to accomodate a new generation of people in their 30’s and 40’s. I’m a little too young to have listened to Z100 when these cuts were new (though I do remember hearing a few of their 80’s cuts on occasion in the 90’s), but I *can* say that this is the first batch of classic top 40 resings CBS-FM has used that had some cuts originally created in my lifetime.
One bit of irony here is that the “Jack FM” format has featured 80’s Z cuts in the past (including Flame Thrower cut 2 which CBS-FM is now using), and I believe some of them aired on WCBS-FM’s infamous short-lived Jack incarnation.
July 15, 2013 at 3:02 am #90796tyty21uh, mike, only one from 42, but the other shotgun was basics
July 17, 2013 at 4:04 am #90814JAM / PAMSMemberuh, mike, only one from 42
uh, no, it’s not from 42. It’s from Series 44A.
July 17, 2013 at 4:47 am #90815mjb1124MemberThanks for the clarification Jon – guess Tyrone and I both need to brush up on our 70’s PAMS.
July 18, 2013 at 8:12 pm #90854tyty21IKR mike!
July 18, 2013 at 8:57 pm #90855SeanMartinBack of the class guys!
August 16, 2013 at 3:17 am #91343mjb1124MemberThey only just recently started using the Production Vault stuff, and they still use a fair amount of older imaging pieces as well.
August 17, 2013 at 6:34 pm #91359glenJon has posted all the jingles for CBS FM cut by cut!!
August 17, 2013 at 7:30 pm #91360IainJohnstonAnd sounding fresh as a proverbial – except for the PAMS Series 44 item, that doesn’t “quite sound right” somehow – backing track layers EQ maybe?
