I’ve recently ran across a tribute site for 99.5 WLOL, (the REAL WLOL, not that “cardboard cutout” Classic Hits station that Clear Channel had at 100.3!)

      http://www.nebraskaradio.com/WLOL/memories.htm

On this site are some JAM jingles (Hot KIIS, Fresh Kiss, Outstanding, & FM) along with some Chuck Riley & Eric Edwards sweepers. But there are some jingles that I’ve been having a hard time IDing. Here are the cuts in question.

99 And A Half FM, WLOL

      Get Me Up, WLOL

The Number One Hit Music Station, Hit Radio WLOL

Anybody know who did this, and what package it’s from?

Ah! So good to hear those again – wish I’d still got the full package.

Those little beauties were produced by a company called Real Good Creative (formerly Reel Good Productions).

The President of Real Good is Kyrl Henderson, and the company is based in Minnesota (PO Box 6, Excelsior, MN 55331. Call (800) 800-7335, with the usual international stuff prefixing the number. Website is http://www.realgood.com.

It’d be a shame for this material to disappear off the face of the Earth completely, so if anyone has more of this extremely rare work to share, that’d be great!

          Hi Dan,

Thanks for the info. I’m not surprised that WLOL had these jingles cut locally since that station have a very unique sound throughout it’s history.

This package (or at least ONE cut) did make it on the air at one other station AFAIK: KNBQ/Seattle-Tacoma Wa. around 1986-87 (and can be heard in the “United States Of Radio” (aka I.D. Fever) montage that is at Airchexx.com

Hold on while I dress up in my Mighty Mouse suit…………

“HERE I COME TO SAVE THE DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!”

Yup, that’s the actual cassette from deep in my jingle chasm. As I recall, this REEL GOOD package was REEL CHEAP. And, there’s a reason for that ;-)

This is one mutha of a long demo. It’s 18:30. But, you KNOW I’m gonna share it with ya. I’m Jeffro, and THAT’S WHAT I DO.

            PART TWO: http://www.jeffreyt.com/audio/ReelGood2.mp3

For the record, this aired on a NUMBER of US stations. Mostly small market stations with limited budgets, though. I know it aired on WLOL, but I don’t think it ran on WHTX (as the demo would have you believe).

Fantastic! Thanks for sharing those – good to hear them again, but I must confess; they haven’t half aged a lot!

As a 14 year old listening back in 1986, they sounded great – and really worked with the music of the time, but now?!

Good for their time though I guess, and a really distinctive vocal sound for the time too, I seem to recall.

Now there’s a first! A JINGLE demo that actually features dry segues on it. Song to song, no jingle in between. GREAT JOB! Can’t imagine why they never overtook the Dallas boys.
