Wixy1360,
when I saw the word “Montana” mentioned, it always reminds me of an old Dr. Don Rose aircheck when he says “I knew a gal from Beaut, Montanna…………..in fact she had a couple of them”.
Sorry about that !
I cannot name who sings those jingles, maybe someone else can (cue TC !). Thanks for posting, always good to hear something I haven`t heard before.

Just had an email from one of our American jingle friends, Joe Caronetti in New York City – Joe tells me he`s been trying to reply to this post for Wixy1360 but has had posting problems.
Joe has asked me to say the KATL jingles were recorded by a jingle company called AMERICAN IMAGE and is a resing of a package called SIGNATURE.
On behalf of Wixy1360 and myself, thanks Joe for the information about the KATL jingles.

I'm glad Joe had a clue as to what it is. I listened to it last night and had no idea. I've looked through my various databases of jingles and find that there are no jingles from AMERICAN IMAGE in our archives.

MemberAuthorThanks TC, David, and Joe for attempting to trace that one!
Also to Brian in the USA for saying WSGE in Dallas, North Carolina had them at one time.Once again, it just shows the vast (but often obscure!) collective knowledge & expertise available on this Site. :^)

MemberThis is a loose one I'll admit!
I have a demo labled “vocal audition” obviously jam productions.
the full demo is around 3:50 long I have uploaded a small sampleI dont see it listed anywhere, it may well be on the 20 years of JAM CD but my discs are in the loft.
Can anyone supply more details please?
is this the demo before the demos?http://jinglemad.com/e107_files/public/1210340075_11954_FT61695_jingles_jam_vocal_audition_sample.mp3 filename:jingles_jam_vocal_audition_sample.mp3

is this the demo before the demos? This is from 1974 and I would guess, given how young the company was at the time, that this sampler/audition was put together to demonstrate the vocal capabilities of the company.
Remember… PAMS and the others were still in full swing at the time. As with Tanner, who put out a demo showing how much they could “mimic” PAMS Dallas vocal sound, JAM wanted to strut their stuff. This four minute piece showcases their capabilities.
Classic stuff…

MemberThanks Tracy,
I thought as much, the back of the full demo includes some commercial jingles like the classic…we're gonna ride it out…yadda yaddaI expect the serious collectors already have it in full….

Thanks Tracy, I have that down as 1974 too…
When I was a teenager (many moons ago) – I wrote to my local DJ (Mr Len Groat at Metro Radio) about radio ID jingles – Len kindly sent me some jingle cassette tapes including a bunch of JAM demos. The first JAM demo on the cassette was “Vocal Audition” and the next demo was “You`ve Got It” – they just blew me away.
Subsequent to then, I have endeavoured to collect every JAM demo since JAM started and I have nearly achieved that goal. Here`s part of my JAM demo listing and you can see that Vocal Audition is at the start of the list.

American Image is, but probably was, a company from Memphis, TN. I've got a couple of original demo's on cassettes. Including Signature. Other names are: Airwaves, Music Explo, Tech Effects and Fast Forward. Anybody interested?

chov_radio.mp3“Good Grief!!! Its 1971 all over again!
I haven't heard that package properly in rather a while to put it mildly – I had a tape of that
dubbed for me by ZBM in Hamilton Bermuda (tape still here but wrecked – but I know who
probably still has a dub in his attic lying next to his cross-head Tandberg deck…).I believe it to be “The PaceSetter” by Pepper-Tanner, but I never got that confirmed at the time.
To use that well-worn phrase…”cue TC”… :^)

Indeed! and what people see on these threads compared with off-line is just
a proverbial iceberg tip of Tracy's expertise & background knowledge.Between TC and JMW……maybe they should BOTH CO-write a book!

I'm really quite an amateur when compared to the knowledge amassed by Jon Wolfert (and a select few others). I know how and where to research the history — but these other people lived it. There IS a big difference.
However, I must admit that I wouldn't object to being involved in such a project. Been there once… would do it again.
Respectfully submitted,
