Can anyone give me a history of this jingle. I remember it mainly from 60's/70's Radio 1 (…wonderful bbbbceeeee…), but it came at a time when I feel sure it was derived/adapted from a Radio London (as in Big L) package. And of course if anyone can direct me to where I can get hold of it, either here or on a CD, it would very helpful.

And as this is my first post I'd just like to say thank you for this site !!

I never thought that one day I could share my life long appreciation of jingles, and in particular the classic PAM packages.

      Hi Jack,

      Yep..you're almost right….
That cut was from PAMS “10th Dimension” (Series 34) re-sang for Radio One in 1967 But I don't think Radio London Had that cut they had many PAMS cuts between 1965-1967 but not that specific cut I think!
Now if you like that cut (which I had re-sang a couple of years ago!) then you will certainly like this!

Many many thanks pete, gosh what a lot of towers they had to sing about. The BBC cut is noticeably different from the rest, or maybe it's because it's so familiar.

So good to hear it again, and all the others.

            Jack,
If you can PM me your e-mail address I'd be happy to send you a heap of different
versions “in-the-clear” in good sound quality – (though Norman B probably does have
the most tucked away in his huge reference archive!)

Another PAMS jingle that was re-sung and re-sung and res-sung is the cut that Len Groat is talking about in this jingle history lecture he did, at an ILR programming conference in the late 1970s.
