Apologies if I have missed this been reported elsewhere, but when I was browsing through the demos on the Studio Dragonfly web site today, I discovered that several Muff Murfin packages are now on there!

For example, here’s a link to a package called ‘G Force’ demoed for KAJY, which many of us will recall as the Red Dragon CHR custom package:

Any other ones you can flag up Mark?

And is there any “quick way” of spotting the MMI ones without playing the demos?
(e.g. are they grouped in any way, say, by their package Ref Numbers???)

Finally, pardon my ignorance on this one – do Studio Dragonfly do single/small-qty non-
broadcast Personal Cuts via this service, or would that go via the main TM service instead???

Iain, I’ve got the feeling that ‘G-Force’ (Red Dragon CHR) is the only one as I can’t find any others I instantly recognise. Having said that, ‘Heart Of Gold’, ‘Maximum Kiss’ and ‘Ricochet’ sound like they could be MMI. Unfortunately, there doesn’t appear to be any pattern with how they are grouped though. The only reason I found them is because I didn’t recognise them as being archive Century 21 or TM.

No, if you want non-broadcast personal cuts you will need to use http://www.iJingles.com. Interestingly, the iJingles site refers to the Studio Dragonfly site for auditioning demos, so I’m pretty sure that the MMI packages will be available for re-sing. I’m sure Sean will confirm.

This is certainly a very interesting development and I would welcome Chris or Sean to shed the light on the situation with these packages.

A while back I enquired whether the MMI packages (those co-produced with TM?) were available for re-sing through iJingles, specifically a BFBS package, and was unfortunately told no.

I recall a similar question cropping up before, and discovering the re-sing rights to these packages being complex, so it's interesting to see that Red Dragon package appear.

Would TM still hold copies of the master tracks to these MMI/TM-sung packages, or are the only copies now with Muff Murfin?

G-Force has been on Studio Dragonfly for as long as I can remember and we've done personal resings from the package aswell as from the familiar Force One cut 9, “You just can't stop the music power” (for Buckinghamshire's C100 / Michael Bolton).

It gets very complex and time consuming tracing tracks from packages that aren't in the current inventory – then having to transfer them into the digital domain if we are sure the rights are ours to resing them.

Whereas the tracks may have survived the decades, the paperwork hasn't necessarily done the same!

Thanks for the prompt information Sean.

Since my last post I stumbled across Mike Smith’s iJingles re-sing of G-Force cut 2; I remember when I first heard this cut that it sounded familiar but couldn’t quite place it. Doh – it all seems so obvious now!

I don’t remember hearing this cut; is there any chance of a quick sample please Michael if you’re reading?

                      Hi Mark,

It's still very new having the shrink wrap taken off it!!!

If you want to plan a raid Muff told me last week that the MMI 24 track masters are in the loft at Sunshine Radio's Ludlow studios. The inventory apparently goes back as far as Yamco's resings of the TM You package for Beacon Radio! I never realised that he was also a shareholder of TM till fairly recently as he worked with Tom Merriman on many projects.

Tom Merriman worked a lot in Europe after he sold his shares in TM. Due to legal constraints. He even had an appaetement in London.. As far as the Muff jingles sold by Tm. I once heard a story of someone who knows that there was a friction between muff and TM about packages he made in Dallas and paye for which also ended up being sold by TM. Ckeck the muff paackages on the simrek site and compare them with TM 90's stuff. There is at least one i known of, but fogot the name.. That aging for you..
