Would be nice if that item included some of the many small bundles for smaller-scale UK stations that were
handled via Dave Langer, especially any of the Scottish ones.February 5, 2017 at 2:29 am #101192Tracy CarmanMemberWhat’s in the Thompson track?
Y94 Syracuse, WOMX Orlando, WUSA Tampa, WVOR, BBC Radio 2, WZTR, KNIX Phoenix, KS95 Minneapolis are just a few. There’s 22 individual cuts in that track.

I think this will be the Christmas cut as featured in the “Holly Days” demo found on the “TC9801 Dallas TX, Jingle Capital Of The World” 1998 demo CD. I don’t ever remember hearing it on air so maybe this was speculative too.
February 5, 2017 at 7:59 pm #101198Media Preservation FoundationMemberAuthorThe cut included in the Miscellaneous Small Orders is indeed the Christmas cut dated November 1997. For reference there were also a number of Thompson Creative custom cuts done for BBC Radio 2 Oct 1997.
February 5, 2017 at 10:56 pm #101199GrahamCollinsI wonder if these were part of the pitch process for a new station package begun in the second half of 1997. Surprised JAM weren’t given this assignment (Holiday cuts are one of their strengths) or just re-licence the It’s all for Christmas package ? I will only believe these were ordered and actually aired if someone can produce an aircheck and/or an invoice !
February 6, 2017 at 5:30 pm #101203IainJohnstonIf anyone is buying the MPFB-50 download, or has the Holly CD, or even the R2 “custom cuts” as
specifically indicated can they please perhaps post them for us all to hear (and comment upon). The “R2″audio suitably “doctored” of course (i.e. montaged, low-bit-rated, or whatever other “processing”
to degrade it) so as to not infringe Tracey’s distribution rights on the material.February 6, 2017 at 8:55 pm #101205GrahamCollinsYes well said Iain, it would be good to actually hear these cuts to keep the discussion going. I am genuinely intrigued…..
February 8, 2017 at 9:15 pm #101215GrahamCollinsI’ve had it confirmed by Radio 2 today that this jingle WAS part of the Thompson Creative bid for the new imaging package that Groove Addicts eventually went on to win. It never aired.
February 8, 2017 at 9:41 pm #101216IainJohnstonI find it mind-boggling that Thompson could even have thought they could try to pitch for a BBC
contract at that high level – considering their product performance at “lower levels” of ILR in the UK…But thats all history now…
February 8, 2017 at 9:59 pm #101218GrahamCollinsFor my money, and jolly nice money it is too, I would say that the Thompson Creative audio submitted could be mistaken for JAM, and as we know this was the sound that Radio 2 were trying to get away from. I wonder who else threw their hat into the ring…..
