“Radio X will be in mono at 80kbps” / “will broadcast in mono at 80kbps”

            How awesome(!) LOL.

Oh dear, this is awful news….. Is the studio big enough for Moyles, his Ego and the wannabes ?

Global have commented in at least one press release i’ve seen that Moyles has free reign to do what he wants on his new show? Of course what actually happens in reality could be different.
It’s no secret Chris Moyles is a bit of a jingle anorak. He used to revel in playing loads of old JAM Radio One jingles back to back on the Golden Hour when he could get away with it!

MB: “Its a global station keep your expectations low”

                    Exactly!

PK: “He used to revel in playing loads of old JAM Radio One jingles”

If he tries to sneak in any JAM now I suspect it will be ‘reported here’ :-) and he’ll get a bill from Dallas! He/Global could afford a JAM custom (….imagine!) but I fear he/they won’t – as much as Moyles would like it…

Plus, remember… the 7 minute jingle song + long ‘blahblahblah’ links will go out of the window – he’ll have 12 minutes+ of ADVERTS to play EVERY hour so at last be on a level playing field with the rest of Bauer/Global comm radio :-(

Subtract those who will NEVER listen to radio with ads… and it’s a ‘sticky wicket’ ! He would have been wiser to stay with the licence-fee funded, ‘job for life’, advert free, BBC !

Moyles may have ‘revelled’ in playing JAM on the Golden Hour but he had no permission to do so – Geoff B may wish to add a comment here……

If I remember Chris Evans sneeked in old Radio One 247 jingles into his breakfast show on Virgin 1215. There is video of Chris Moyles playing the JAM stuff on the Golden Hour on YouTube

Or maybe Mr Moyles (who I’ve never once listened to on the BBC, and don’t intend to elsewhere either no matter where he may roam) could go back to badly-singing his name live-on-air over old “Top Cat” (no, not the JM one…) TV cartoon show theme music, as I “caught” him doing years ago with utterly dire “fader-w***ing” technique, while I was cassette-radio airchecking some ILR he used to work on “before he was {famous]”…

PS – how could he have “sneaked in” [any producers] cuts “without the prior written consent…” on the BBC when everything that moves on the BBC then was manually logged to death? Surely the “appropriate department” would have had to retrospecively check the ownership of the Copyrighted Material and then back-pay accordingly? (yes I know we’ve debated this before, and maybe the posts somehow “got lost” ;^) …but there must be a “statute of limitations” on “old topics that might now be safe to discuss”? ;^)

Still, if its all going to be at 80kb mono, then 95% of the audio will have been “psycho-acoustically” filtered out anyway…

with Control freaks Tabor and Park – Global press releases should be taken with a large pinch
