i think nearly all montages posted are put together by the individual.
i use avs audio tools and also avs audio editor .
not expensive by anymeans and it does a fantastic job.
        find it here:

As an obsessive Apple fan, I use iTunes and GarageBand for creating the montages and exporting them as MP3 files.

A lot of us use Adobe Audition or it’s predecessor,Cool Edit.

It allows you to insert MP3 and WAV files into a multitrack screen,so you can crossfade etc. It’s also industry standard (you’ll find it in a lot of production studios at stations across the UK and the World),so you’re at a distinct advantage if you can get your head around it ! :D

Try Magix Audio Cleaning Lab – various versions – is approx
£30 in the shops or £20 from Amazon UK.

It has a very easy to use 2-track mode which is great for
montages, plus all sorts of cleaning filters etc etc to remove
tape hiss, boost/filter different frequencies (EQ), and loads
of other functions (reverbs, cut&paste, etc).

Some functions look uncannily similar to Cool Edit etc –
                            pure coincidence of course!

Only drawback is its limited when outputting to MP3 (need to
buy an addon after 20 mp3 outputs), BUT any old free MP3
compiler such as MP3PRO does the job anyway. NB – WAV
outputs are NOT restricted, so prime mixes output in WAV.

It can input from line audio (cassette decks, amps, hi-fis; also
low-level from vinyl (some vesions include a phono cable
kit to save buying a separate one)), all digital audio formats,
                            and or course CD/wav/etcetc.
then do mp3 compression in MP3pro or whatever.

the only trouble with magix products is you think you’re buying a full version of a product and then you have to purchase extras to ‘unlock’ limited features.then if you have a problem with your computer, you are again limited to the amount of times you can use your purchased ‘extra’-usually 3 times 👿
imagine buying adobe photoshop-and only being able to use ‘red-eye reduction’ say 20 times then having to buy an ”add-on” to be able to continue using it ❗

i also saw the abobe audition on that website-but i couldn’t find a link to purchase it 😥

For a fiver its clearly not kosher!

Gameswizard.. I agree about the Cleaning Lab, but most people will
have / can get free MP3 compilers anyway. And for £20 its quite a
comprehensive utility for the money (and no doubt a quick PC Registry
hack can reset the MP3 counter for anyone worried about it!)

Above all, its the creativity of the montage compilers that matters…
                                    Keep them coming chaps!
