It was hearing jingles for Magic in Philadelphia that first hooked me on jingles, so I always like to listen to any station with Magic in its name.

Here's a 40 minute scoped aircheck of Magic 107.3 which includes 2 sung jingles by, er, who? (Is it, as Don Imus said on “Nothing but Class”, Merle & Earl & Leon in the basement of Old Alexander's?)

Lots of liners. Robotic output. Not exactly magical, I fear.

      Yawn.

Those cacophonic gems are from Groove Addicts.

KMJK is a perfect example of what's wrong with corporate radio in these times.

Except for the dreadful sung imaging, Magic had been, until recently, a pretty good Urban AC. Cumulus cut much of the on-air staff and the sound and feel of the station duly suffered.

“Cacophonic” is spot on, Mike. That's how many of the ageing Groove Addicts Radio 2 cuts sound to my untutored ears too.
