We were speaking about CLARITY on jingles recently, and placing of words. There is a classic new example of crammed syllables leading to a LACK of clarity and an impossible to hear lyric :

'Morning Rock – We're Back 1 '

from the new 'Chris Moyles show' package.

It sings :

'Local Radio has them Peas' ! !

Almost as good as 'Another Dog free weekend' !

And does he mean BBC Local Radio ??

I've just had a quick listen to it on the Music4 website, and on the first time of listening, it was obvious to me what they sing. I'll not type the line here in case other people want to take this version of the “Daz Challenge”, but I had no issue with it at all.

I'm with Chris on this one… on my first listen I could make out the words.

I could make out the words when I heard Chris play it. Also he always has a dig at Local Radio in his own special way – take birthday corner this time around – it's very local radio really! And normally the dig is at Mr Vaughan on Capital

I have NO idea what it says…

And I wonder what the many millions of people (25 million licence payers) who DON”T live in London.. would make of the allusions to 'Mr Vaughan on Capital' … IF they listened..??

Indulgent radio at its worst…..

… and who BENEFITS from 2 minute long jingles?
