Hey,
My hometown radio station, Mix 107.9 has been airing the M-Edge jingles for about 3 months, and I am curious to get jingle enthusiasts feedback on how they sound. They sound great here in SLC, but I want to know how everyone else feels about them.
If you haven't heard the demo, it is very CHR friendly.
It will be interesting to hear what M-Edge comes out with next!!
PS: Tony, great job on the new packages… N2 is bigger and better… N2 is M-Edge!!!
HERE IS THE DEMO:
December 31, 2008 at 1:44 am #64324applejackYeah, I dig the package…very nice! It fits CHR Top 40 very nicely and I must say that it probably works well for Hot AC or even Country.
Hey Gavan, since this is in your hometown would you be able to upload a nice aircheck sometime? I've listened online and the jingles sound great on the stream but It would be nice to have something better.
Great work M-Edge!…keep 'em coming
December 31, 2008 at 1:57 pm #64333JingleMadMemberTony said in an email he sent me that the package does work for AC, Hot AC, Country, etc minus Rock radio.
December 31, 2008 at 4:19 pm #64336gameswizardMemberi don't like them.
December 31, 2008 at 5:56 pm #64341gavanbrudererYes, I will post some airchecks soon! I am out of town for the holiday, but I will post them somethime this weekend. As for the reply by “gameswizard” I think it would be nice if you elaborated why you “don't like them”
Thanks for your replies!

I recorded these back in October, when KUDD first started using the package…
Enjoy!

January 3, 2009 at 8:30 pm #64388ratnobMemberEr, yes, right. Not quite to my taste, but I can see why some people might like them.
For me – too shrill, too shrieky, too predictable.
But I'm probably the wrong demographic.
Bob DinanJanuary 4, 2009 at 2:03 am #64390applejackHey Gavan,
Thanks for the aircheck…very cool. I am more convinced that I love the sound of this package.
As for Bob's comments…you're right it's probably a demographic thing. The sound fits CHR Top 40 right on.
Love the vocals by the way!
Thanks again Gavan.
January 4, 2009 at 12:22 pm #64394mattii70The package itself is good, but it does rather sound like every other N2 Effect/M-Edge package, they haven't really evolved their sound much.
January 19, 2009 at 5:15 pm #64630coolntTony has always had a knack for creating cutting edge rhythmic jingles. His packages are a favorite of many CHR stations. Not trying to be a sales person here, but why else does Kiss 106.1 Dallas still stay with the guys for all these years.
Though M-Edge jingles tend to sound the same, the vocals, backing tracks, FX and stuff do their job very well. But then again, it's not for everyone,

I am a fan of other companies too but Tony Valdez sure does some amazing stuff. It is no accident that KHKS-FM Dallas (US market #5) has used his production since 2001. WOW…an 8 year run. That's amazing! Keep up the good work Tony.

I reckon BBC Radio Two (UK) would be a good contender – they were with JAM Creative Productions for twenty years !

I think Sunrise Radio (UK) could be in the running too for the length of time they've used JAM too.
With regards the M-Edge package for KUDD,quite good.
