A simple, quick question for you – whether anyone has an answer, I don’t know.

Do you know who is responsible for the KMFM package?

And what do you make of it? My initial thoughts of cheap nasty awfulness have subsided now that I’ve been exposed to KMFM… and I’ve come to quite like them. They’re dangerously catchy jingles, that’s for sure.

        Evening,

Guilty. There’s a demo of the package in the commercial section of http://www.devaweb.co.uk – they provided the beds, I did the vocals, and it was all quite fun.

Heard them on the radio for the first time last summer when I was travelling the country looking for solid 70s camper vans… and came to the conclusion that they work really nicely on air. While possibly a touch odd out of context, they work nicely out of breaks, which is what really matters.

To be honest, I’m pretty proud of them.

As for the camper? Well… I didn’t go for the one in Kent… I actually found one 5 miles from my house in Yorkshire. Bonkers eh!

Ahhh… thanks for that. I obviously completely missed that demo!

Had I known it was you, I wouldn’t have been so harsh (oops !) but as I say, they’ve really grown on me.

Love that van by the way.

Regardless of who produces that jingles DAS – you are entitled to you’re opinion – that’s what discussions are about!

So if you think they are the saddest thing since GWR went from radio to jukebox – say so!

From what I’ve heard I actually think they’re good, much better than many of the bland Vibe/Music 4, and some poorer Bespoke Music packages (Don’t like the RIL Pack C).

The music logo at the end of the sing adds something different too. Don’t think some of the station names fit as well as KM-FM (i.e. Neptune) but presume they all use the same KM ones now anyway as they all changed to all KM-FM’s.

I have placed an On-Air Imaging Sampler taken from their 96.2 output in the ‘Downloads’ section…..

Interesting to hear that TOH and weather. In Canterbury at least, they use the really nice “Breakin'” suite from the V News library. I presumed all KMFM stations used Breakin… evidently not!

I like the musical logos at the end, reminds me of the old Sue Manning packages which always had a very clear logo at the end after the vocal. Red Rose, Capital, Piccadilly it was like a signature sue Mannning thing, On stations like Piccadilly they sounded great and really impregnated the logo into peoples minds. It something that isn’t on many packages and so makes it different. and different is good.
