The Music4 sequence is still airing today Paul. Although I’ve never been the greatest fan of the Music4 cuts for Key I do quite like the current TOH.
Here’s a copy for anyone whose not heard it before, again recorded off air. I don’t think it’s been featured on any Music4 demo. http://www.jingles.robertmccaffery.com/Key_TOH_231205_0100.mp3

December 30, 2005 at 2:09 pm #25498MartinSJust uploaded a version of the new top of the hour sequence (recorded off air) from Manchester’s Key103 (UK).
http://www.jinglemad.com/audio/7/0/KEY103_2005_TOTH03.mp3
Compare to the old Music4 version provided by Rob (RjM) a few posts ago above.
It’s Fab! Can’t wait until they start to come out of the news with the ramp versions f the new jingles, which presumably exist given the pattern of mixouts provided on virtually all Reelworld packages. Don’t think we’ll her that until the first round of mystery voices is over!

March 26, 2006 at 10:18 pm #25796MartinSJust thought I’d give a bit of an update on the use of the Key 103 2006 Reelworld package given that it’s now been on air for three months. I was a little unsure at first, but to be honest, it has grown so much to the point where I can say it’s definitely my favourite Reelworld package ever, very closely followed by Kiss 108 Boston 2003.
I also feel that the 2001 Key103 package wasn’t a patch on this one, although obviously that’s personal opinion and, granted the packages are quite different given that music spectrum of today’s Key103 slightly broader than it was in 2001.
When the new jingles first went on air in late Dec 2005, it was entirely as ‘basic cuts’.
Now I’m pleased to say, over the course of 3 months, I’ve heard the package used very well and in very creative ways.• Basic Cuts are used regularly.
• Shotguns now regularly used – although they weren’t for a couple of months.
• Presenters, especially Warren Moore, Ditchy and Mike Toolan are regularly using ramp bed versions as talk ups.
• Ramp from cut 4 has recently been used as a competition promo (minus the end sing). The logo works very well on this.
• Have heard acapella cuts used before slow soft songs.
• And…. in the last week, sonic logo (from cut 11) used within a sweeper for Toolan in the Morning breaksfast show.
“The Key to Manchester’s Weekend”, “Top Ten at Ten” and Toolan in the Morning” alternate versions are also used regularly. Examples of the latter can be heard in the “Toolan Casts”, the best bits from Manchester’s Breakfast Show (http://www.whatson.com/key103/)
Some of the ramp beds (notably 8, 10, 11) seem to be used minus the ‘vocally’ “oohs” and “yeahs” – to be honest I think they sound better this way.
All in all, very effective use. The predominately female sound of the Reelworld package contrasts extremely well against the predominantly male (John Rand) voicovers.

December 2, 2006 at 12:03 am #27915MartinSFor those that are into “Power Intros”, thought it was worth a mention that they've returned Key 103 Manchester this week after a break of nearly 2 years.
I can't decide whether they are custom made or have been constructed from accs from the current Key 103 Reelworld package. Although they may be custom, they do sound more like jingle vocals than vocals specifically intended to match the artists.
So far I've heared 5 of them…
Snow Patrol – Chasing Cars
Beyoncé – Irreplaceable
Robbie Williams – Lovelight (great beat matching)
Razorlight – America
The Feeling – Love It When You CallThe first three seem to start with a 'screech' kind of effect into the song.
