After almost 3 years service from Reelworld's “Key 103 2006” package (launched Dec '05), Key 103 are now airing new jingles, again from Reelworld. Similar vocals to the last, and they retain the 5 note logo. The new slogan is “Manchester's original music station”, which has been appearing in spoken ID's for a few months. They also appear to be still airing the old cuts too. Nothing yet on Reelworld.com…
Here's a few bits I recorded off air this morning:

http://www.jinglemad.com/download.php?view.2538EDIT: Longer off-air montage:
http://jinglemad.com/e107_files/public/1223828296_534_FT66046_key103_2008_reelworld_offairsample.mp3 filename:key103_2008_reelworld_offairsample.mp3October 7, 2008 at 11:16 am #62557MartinSRob/Roy – thanks for sharing the news/audio. Not only a return to a meaningful strap line but the enforcement of such with sung jingles!
When I first heard the 'Manchester's Original Music Station' slogan on air a few weeks ago I remember wondering to myself whether or not this would sound ok re-sung on the 2006 package tracks in place of 'Manchester's No 1. Hit Music Station'. This is even better news though – a new package with an even better slogan.
Good to hear the retention of the five not logo as I’d also been wondering whether or not a re-sing of the Wise Buddah BFBS package that BRMB have had re-sung would suit ‘Key 103’ on a possible four note logo.
I wonder if they have re-sings of the new jingles for 'Toolan in the Morning', 'Key to Manchester's Weekend' and 'Top Ten at Ten'? Hope so!
October 7, 2008 at 3:29 pm #62559JingleMadMemberYep great stuff in tthere!
And with RW's 5 voice group it's amazing what ReelWorld can do.
October 9, 2008 at 1:25 am #62578coolntVery classic, very melodic!
October 9, 2008 at 5:47 pm #62590JingleMadMemberYep the Key 103 logo is a classic logo, the the 2006 package has been resung here for a few hot AC stations in the US I think.
Could someone point me in the correct direction please?
October 11, 2008 at 12:17 pm #62630ah-mediaMemberHow good does that sound? I think this sounds fantastic and will hopefully spawn a number of UK resings over the next couple of years ! Well done Reelworld !
October 12, 2008 at 4:19 pm #62655RjMAs the package has yet to appear on reelworld.com, here's a larger sample of the new cuts, again recorded off air (apologies to those who dislike off air montages). To answer Martin's question I've so far heard alternative sings for “Toolan in the Morning” and “Darren Proctor's Drive Home”. Also to update my first post, the old cuts are no longer in use. There's also a little reference to the new jingles from Macdonald and Maguire at the end.

October 12, 2008 at 5:27 pm #62660JingleMadMemberWow good longer montage that was almost the hole packagge!
October 12, 2008 at 6:37 pm #62668kcmikeVery, very nice. And also encouraging to know that ReelWorld is producing new packages outside of the already tired-sounding ReelWorld ONE series.
Thanks for snagging and posting it, Rob!

October 13, 2008 at 11:48 am #62678PaulRob thanks for the off-air montage. The package is sounding good… and a different sound for ReelWorld too.

October 19, 2008 at 6:39 pm #62804MartinSRob, many thanks for posting the longer montage. This is fantastic, love it even better than the last package! Managed to have a bit of a listen this weekend whilst in ” Manchester's Original Cotton Mill Town….it's Sta-ly-bri-dge”
October 19, 2008 at 7:17 pm #62806Maya53I think this could work for hot AC or mainstream AC stations.
October 20, 2008 at 3:07 pm #62814jingle loverThe new package for Key Manchester is amazing!
I can't believe how much it stands out on-air! They sounded great before, but now…well, words cannot explain!
Their new strap line is the best in the UK right now – no doubt other stations will be stealing it before long!
I like the new package that much I have managed to secure MP3 copies for the car? Would anyone like them?

October 23, 2008 at 9:12 pm #62893IainJohnstonMemberJust been listening to Rob's offair stuff of the new Key103 jingles – nice to hear jingles
being used “properly” for a change!Excellent package…But…something was nagging my mind…why were these cuts SO FAMILIAR…???
{EFX: penny dropping} it seems a wee bit unfortunate that the synth logo at the start of
each cut is uncannily like/the same as the old “ASDA Price” TV adverts! (…mental
image of “Debbie from Dagenham” turning slightly side-on and her patting her bum twice
…er, sorry, must take another cold shower…!)But DOES it sound like the exact same logo?!? :^)
October 23, 2008 at 9:25 pm #62894rsimpkinsHah – I hadn't twigged before, but it is… Manchester's original music station is obviously good for your pocket! *pat pat*
October 23, 2008 at 9:57 pm #62895rsimpkinshere they are…

October 24, 2008 at 1:49 pm #62903IainJohnstonMemberThanks Robin – thats another “Holy Grail” off the list LOL :^)
November 11, 2008 at 11:46 am #63286MartinSThis has now appeared on the Reelword site, branded as Key103 2009 – pretty much like the 2005 package was branded 2006!
Excellent package.
November 11, 2008 at 8:29 pm #63300RjMCheers for pointing this out Martin, I've been waiting for this to appear. I especially wanted to hear the ramp mixes.
To bring up a point made above on the “Manchester's Original” slogan. I really like the way it can be interpreted on two levels i.e. Manchester's first music station, playing on the stations heritage. It also suggests they are the Manchester's innovative station, the one others copy. The inclusion of the stations home town is also important.
November 11, 2008 at 9:25 pm #63304malexanderThey sound identicle to the last lot…lol.. and on the news ID it sounds like they are singing ” G 103 “
November 28, 2008 at 8:08 pm #63752live123Anyone know who the new(ish) female voiceover on Key is at the moment? She is used accross the group……..Apart from City Talk as they use the old female VO.
January 5, 2009 at 12:14 pm #64402MartinSOn reflection, I have to say this was my favourite new jingle package of 2008. It's just so addictive and memorable.
I wish my local station and neighbouring Baurer sister station to Key 103 (96.3 radio aire) would drop the unecessary '96.3' from their name as they could potentially take a great re-sing of this package!
“Leeds and Wakey's Original Music Station… Radio Ai-re” !!
January 6, 2009 at 6:59 pm #64422MartinSI don't think it's Reelword, however the world famous Key103 logo made famous by Reelworld is now available for download as a text alert!

How Original of Key 103!
