Not sure where to post this! BBC7 have done a deal with GCAP and will be broadcasting some “classic” Kenny Everett material on BBC 7 on Thursday evenings at 22.30 for the next few weeks. Recorders at the ready!

A great first prog, and having just got a digi set top-box even better quality than FM, (I’m sure it will be on Radio 2 eventually). Although they’ve done a deal with Gcap I wonder whether they have had access to the Everett estate? If anyone from the beeb is viewing this do you know what software was used to clean up (if it was in fact needed) the audio? and who at the beeb worked on the 4 progs.
BTW A bloody great shame that Auntie Beeb felt the need to edit out any branding for Capital Radio or those three numbers 194, c’mon beeb as a major broadcaster you’re much more worthy than that, leave the content intact. 👿 😈 😈

The 194 was in one of the jingles. It’s hard to know exactly what the deal with GCap was … it may be part of the agreement that the Capital branding isn’t used. If you think when R2 ran the Luxy shows they included the Luxy branding. The deal may also be only for digital use so we may not get to hear them on R2.

I have to agree with Brian I counted 11 edits which would have sounded better left intact

Any Sonovox cut in which you can understand the words can’t be him !

I think this is an old Pams (edit) as it sounds like the same person who did the “Number -One -Nimber -One” cut that Rosko used to play I am sure TC will be able to identify it !

You know the way the media, both Tv and radio work at the moment, (Slot blocking) repeat, repeat, repeat, I’m sure that it’s only a matter of time. After all he was a R2 as well.

It was hacked together by someone with a blunt razor blade!!! The editing was truly bad and the hacking of the end of his Capital jingles is just one example of the shoddy work on the programme. I heard one instrumental Capital cut at least but the joy of a lot of kennys work is his clever lyrics its sort of a bit lost of they cut half way through so you dont hear the full jingle.

I enjoyed the show but though the production was very very poor.
