Have been listening to a few of the JOTD posts recently – but can’t see them at the moment. Soundcloud would play the clips as a montage, if you’re nimble with the Play button.

Haven’t commented on any of them, as people’s comments would get in the way of the neatness of a big thread of Soundcloud links. Hope it returns 🙂

I’m not seeing them anymore either.

Now, if someone had posted A THREAD with a hint about missing things when they’re gone …. ?
          ;^)

If a really long thread like that is punctuated with loads of people commenting, it gets really messy to scroll through and play the cuts. I got the impression that you were happy posting a long thread of jingles without the clutter of comments. It was nice scrolling down and hitting play on the cuts, building a ‘live montage’. Maybe make the JOTD thread visible, unless it’s been deleted, and have a separate thread for comments?

Having a split -thread for it seems a good idea , maybe block replies on the audii thread? So its readonly / link to s/c perhaps?
I do see plenty of “reads” of threads, just no “blethering” :-)

Yes I played a few but it was just overwhelming ! Took ages to load and as this site does not pick up where you left off they weren’t very easy to follow. Like rak I didn’t think comments were appropriate, making a long thread even longer !

Agree with the comments above – JOTD is a great concept, but it just didn’t work on here for the reasons mentioned.

Maybe it was because it was ( most of the time) one jingle per selection.

That’s the “linear” nature of S/c unfortunately, and I did notice some “loading” delays.
Its not like the grid-ing style of “cut-by-cut”of e.g. the JAM site – noticed though that JAM’s cuts can be “sequed” in the way some have
played the JOTD items on S/c

I could segue the JOTD stuff direct from JM.

Montages always ” sell better” .
