Bigdave
Good Morning from Portsmouth where the sun is shining already, and temperatures are set to rise into the 70’s.
It’s also home to what will be the most ambitious and technically advanced Jingle Days ever. David and John have put a terrific amount of work in already, and I can definitely confirm that those both attending and opting in online are in for a treat.
Myself and David have already set up the room, the techy aspects are all in hand, and the bar staff are primed. All of us down here look forward to seeing you all from 12 onwards.
In the meantime, as promised, what would breakfast time be without a bit of JAM (and TM,LBS,Emison,Thompson Creative et al)?… here’s Mixdown 17…

MemberYep. I’m getting an error message when trying to access the stream
There’s now a message saying it’s being uploaded via 3G, but the videos will be available after the event. That’s cool

Shame the online video is down at present
Obviously the BMW being advertised on the SDTV page ISN’T one of the JingleQuiz prizes then!!!
Have a good time one & all

MemberIt’s been back online since around 16:20 – just watching Steve England. Very interesting.
June 21, 2014 at 5:32 pm #94965IainJohnston
Great stuff Gents! And familiar faces there.
So we’ve got a streaming video link camera looking at a video link of Steve England on a laptop, with people in the room taking pictures of the video link…
Certainly beats the Arg/Iran footy right now on the “other channel”!
Applause all round gents for getting this all setup and working

Thank you everybody for what I believe was a great day in the Portsmouth sunshine.
For so many people to have travelled such a great distance, especially our guest speakers, I give my thanks for making it the success it was.
Chris Stevens’ presentation was superb, I think many of us learnt many new things in his well constructed, perfectly delivered piece. (I love the Jack stuff, but will be haunted by images of Chris in just a pair of golden pants).
Simon Prentice and Rob Wills’ excellent piece gave us a real insight into the challenges facing the jingle industry. “Because the owner likes it” is so painfully true and the “Z100 meets Magic” style will always make me smile.
Steve England proved yet again that he is a great storyteller and had the room captivated with his engaging hour, and had many jingle questions answered.
My thanks to everyone who contributed. Especially Jonno who put in a huge amount of unseen effort into ensuring yesterday’s success.
Congratulations to Dan Lodge and Robin Blamires on winning their prizes from iJingles. I will arrange a fair way of giving everyone on this forum chance to win the remaining prizes, soon.
Simon Hardwick’s Herculean effort of broadcasting the event live also needs more than a little thank you. The event, captured by Southdown TV will be available on their website soon: http://www.southdown.tv
Again, thank you to everyone who came yesterday to make the day entertaining, eventful and memorable.

Thanks David, Jonno and all the speakers…shame I couldn’t make it down there, but followed the proceedings when I could!
Some very fascinating facts were learned yesterday!

Much appreciated the chance to watch even for a short while before I “lost the signal”…
Is “wearing a plastic London Policeman’s Hat” Steve England’s equivalent to the Scots’
“See-You Jimmy!” Ginger-Haired Tartan Bunnet
Well done to David, Jonno, Simon, et al (apologies for those names not known) for all the hard work

PS – the “other cameraman” & TV production bod from within our ranks appears to be currently “doing” a slightly further away “OB” at the moment…

Various photos on the left on his FB page (for those with access) of where “Scotron” has been bringing us all live coverage of the “footy” these past few days…

Again, well done to Dave’s Harber and Nightingale, and John for sorting yesterday out. Such an amazing location and with weather to match, and good to see the attendees getting that extra bit deep into their own jingle journeys.
If I’d had known, I’d have planned something myself! (Though it’s probably for the best I didn’t).
Also well done to messrs Chris Stevens, Rob Wills, Simon Prentice, and Steve England for their insightful contributions.
Really enlightening and prompted me to take notes!
Hopefully this will happen again sometime in 2015.

How do we better that?
Just on the way home to Sheffield, using the wifi on the train, but every credit must go to David and John for hosting what was the most technically advanced and ambitious Jingle Day ever. Having been present at the very first one, it’s grown from a few blokes in a pub at the bottom of Briggate in Leeds,to live streaming 3 camera coverage, via the internet, and contributors via Skype.
It was also great to see Simon,Rob,Chris, and Roy again for the first time in a while, Robin,David,Stacey (who finally got his hands on a CD he’s wanted for 20 years), and Graham, who’s contribution was both a real surprise and a fitting way to mark such a great weekend.
Where do we go next? That’s a tough one. What we’ll do next? Now that’s even tougher!

MemberDave, great to finally meet you after all these years! Just been listening to your “Up Pompey” mixdown, great stuff and a perfect way to round off the weekend before putting out the television and turning off the cat for the night before I turn in
Iain and Linden and Mike, I think I promised you CDs if you want them? and it just so happens I have 3 copies remaining. If you do, please can you PM me your addresses? Cheers.
I will upload my montage to S/C soon for everyone’s listening pleasure soon.
