May 27, 2014 at 7:43 am #94535SeanMartinThat’s some groovy artwork!!
To those who haven’t been to a Jingleday event before, it’s traditional to bring along a stack of jingle mix CDs you’ve prepared especially for the day to share with others. It’s an occasion to showcase your collection.
May 27, 2014 at 8:07 am #94537jonnoMemberto be fair, all i did was add “Jonno’s Jingle Mix” to David’s original event artwork so not really much creativity on my part
June 5, 2014 at 8:00 pm #94693Prometheus(*) TWO WEEKS TO JINGLEMAD JINGLE DAY 2014 (*)
The event is in the ‘Jingle Room’ at Spice Island on Portsmouth’s historic waterfront on Saturday June 21st (and Sunday June 22nd for the hardcore).
This unique opportunity to socialise with other like-minded jingle fans starts at 1pm on Saturday June 21st and continues until the last man remains standing (probably Dave Nightingale). The evening’s drinking event is more relaxed and is open to any decent radio producer, or perhaps those who had failed to register.
The full agenda will be sent by email directly to those who have registered, but will include events such as Guest Presentations from:
Simon Prentice from S2Blue
Chris Stevens from Ignite Jingles
Steve England from Alfasound
… and maybe Rik Scott after a few beers.Remote participation is possible through the JingleDay Google+ Hangout. [Please contact Jonno for more information on this].
We will try and help with your “Quest for the Holy Grail”. Please bring a list of your ‘Most Wanted’ jingles and/or packages.
Attendees are encouraged to bring CDs/Flash Drives/7.5″ reels of their TOP 10 MONTAGE of jingles to be shared with the masses. Please also bring your own personalised jingles for a short Ego-wank Session.
We strongly recommend that you bring a BLANK Flash Drive to hoover-up any freely available audio from the organisers and other jingle fans!
Throughout the day we will be playing many different versions of Jinglemad Bits and Pieces and toward the end of Saturday evening we will play the legendary Jinglemad Jingle Quiz.
For these quizzes, the UK’s top jingle companies have provided a six separate personalised jingle prizes!
Thanks to iJingles, Ignite Jingles and S2Blue.
The event will be filmed and recorded by Southdown TV and ultimately edited to create a memorable broadcast quality video of the event.
There will also be a requirement for you to take part in the recording of a video for The Jam Song. (Participation IS essential (lyrics will be provided), however, singing ability is not essential).
PM me or Jonno if you have any questions and keep listening to Jinglemad Radio for further event details.
Thanks for listening…
David and Jonno.
June 9, 2014 at 12:04 pm #94740IainJohnstonFor those of us unable to be there in person, is there a specific “proxy” person or email address we can send our Top 10 and Personal Cuts submissions to, for distribution/playing-out/”critique” ( ) ) ) ) at the event?
I’m just a wee bit wary of “stitching up” David or Jonno, as I’m aware of all the hard work the guys are already putting-in behind-the-scenes to make the weekend a success!
PS – again for those “in absentia”, will the Jingle prizes be purely for attendees, or are we able to “register for a raffle” of any of them perhaps???
PPS – noting again, TWO of the above companies have now pinched my INITIALS !

June 9, 2014 at 12:51 pm #94741BigdaveJust started to build the montage yesterday night and round about 5 minutes is done.
I’m trying to give it a South Coast flavour, so it starts with some cuts from Victory,Ocean Sound, Power FM, IOW Radio, 2CR, and Southern, but then I might move along to include Invicta,Dorset Coast, Sovereign and more… more to do tonight!
Just the train to sort now, and then I’ll see you down there! Just a reminder, I’ll have a car for most of Friday, the whole of Saturday, and part of Sunday, so if you’re needing a pick up from the station or need a hand in getting things set up – give me a shout! I should make it to Southsea for around 4ish on Friday afternoon.
June 9, 2014 at 4:04 pm #94745michiMemberThis sounds like fun. I hope to be able to remotely check in. It would be neat if we can find a way to allow those of us who would otherwise have to swim to get to Portsmouth to be able to contribute to the anorak version of The Jam Song.

Make that 10 minutes now! Was playing it back in the car this morning and it sounds pretty good already…

Will it be available to hear via SoundCloud (or similar) after the event, for those not there in person?

June 11, 2014 at 8:39 am #94802professor1036Sorry I can’t make it guys…hope the event is a success!

June 11, 2014 at 9:20 pm #94812PrometheusA minor Jinglemad Jingle Day update.
Jonno and I spent a very significant amount of time last night (including a small break while we watched the International Space Station pass overhead) on next weekend’s event.
We think we are confident in our ability to (one way) ‘broadcast’ the event via Google+ Hangouts. This will come courtesy of an ITV genius called Simon (ex-Atlantic 252), three cameras (one of which will me manned by David Furness) and some kinda upstream link type thing ( I don’t understand this at all).
Anyone watching online from anywhere in the world will see the event mixed ‘live’. From a white van parked outside courtesy of Southdown TV.
We are now also confident that if you are wanting to participate remotely, you can do this via Skype – but we need to know who you are… ASAP. Please PM me, or Jonno as soon as possible.
For remote participants: all audio will be played locally (i.e., in Portsmouth) regardless of where you are. So please make sure we have your audio. Again, please PM me or Jonno.
We are at capacity for the Saturday event, if you have not registered your attendance here, I strongly recommend you get in contact to avoid disappointment.
There are, of course, plenty of spaces available for the evening’s exercise in booze consumption.
Because we will be recording a video for The Jam Song, even non-attendees can take part. I will arrange how to do this via these pages separately, on a separate day.
Thanks for listening!
