TV Campaigns for radio stations are all the rage in the US. But what’s more exciting is that when you use your own jingles for your campaign. sounds great isn’t it?
Well, Mike Preston teamed up years ago with Peter Rosler to create a TV Campaign using solely, Reelworld Jingles.
Check it out here, it’s KBKS Seattle Kiss 106.1 Jingle Video. Produced by Peter Rosler, jingles from Reelworld.
And another for Sunny 106.9, take a close listen at the tag jingle , sounds TM?
I hope you enjoy.

May 30, 2006 at 10:07 am #27544BigdaveOcean Sound did back in the early 90’s with a David Arnold jingle, and more recently I can remember Real advertising on YTV.If my memory serves me right,I think Viking and Pennine did as well back in the 80’s.
I can also remember Hallam having a cinema ad back in the 1970’s too, along with a number of other stations.
By the way, there is a advert for the Renault 11 that features a cut from the 1984 Capital Radio Package, along with the “Flying Eye”. You’ll need Real Player for this…

May 30, 2006 at 10:48 am #27546BigdavePiccadilly also had commercials featuring many jocks and their disgraced chairman Owen Oyston,of which our esteemed Forum Manager used to have posted on his wonderful site Jingle Ark,before closure…

May 30, 2006 at 7:59 pm #27548IainJohnstonMemberA few years back there was a good one floating around for a US station
(can’t remember the call-letters but it was a “B-96” I think?), where the
old station cleaner walks in, sits in the studio chair, puts the cans on,
and “sings” the whole 60-second montage of jingles, jocks, ads, records,
etc etc, then goes back to sweeping the floor at the end.Anyone got a dub of that still???

When JeffreyT.Mason, Neal Bowden and me visited JAM, we spent over 12 hours there – I don`t think I`ve mentioned this on Jingle Mad before but Jon Wolfert showed us some radio promotional videos mainly from the 1980s (some from the 1990s too) which featured radio stations from all over the USA with 30 second and 60 second campaigns, a lot of the JAM jingles on these promotional videos used cuts we had never heard before, several custom jingles. I guess that many Jingle Madders won`t know this but Jon also video taped several announcers/dj`s/presenters using JAM jingles on-the-air. One guy that springs to mind on the video is Ron Chapman at KVIL in Dallas, that guy has had several JAM jingles sung for him and the station. I have of course subsequently, tried to get a copy of the video but to no avail !

May 31, 2006 at 1:39 am #27551coolntthanks for your response guys and for sharing UK Radios’ TV Campaigns.
David, that must have been an experience of a lifetime to see all those classic vids showing legendary DJs talk up over Jam jingles.
Anyway, you can find more US station campaigns at http://www.roslercreative.com
Not sure if the rest use custom jingles. BUt most of the campaigns use canned interviews with a little custom station interview, and the whole thing is spiced up with some music videos to compliment the client’s format. However, all the campaigns are fairly produced.,
Id like to see campaigns that use JAM jingles.
May 31, 2006 at 5:53 am #27552danjamesukThere have also been TV campaigns for 100.7 Heart FM, Heart 106 and Heart 106.2. In fact, Heart 106.2’s last campaign-but-one featured part of the instrumental track of a Jamie Theakston Breakfast theme from IQ Beats.
LBC 97.3 also advertised on TV about 2 years ago. In fact, they also advertised in a former incarnation – LBC News Radio – back in the late 80s. There’s a clip kicking about somewhere on a TV site (again, TV Ark I think) where you’ll find the latter in the middle of a commercial break played during TVAM’s Good Morning Britain. It features one of the old Jeff Wayne idents.
Virgin advertised both on TV and in the cinema back in the 90s, featuring a dancing Jono Coleman jigging around to the Boo Radley’s “Wake Up (It’s a Beautiful Morning)”.
BBC London 94.9FM also advertise after the local news, as do most BBC locals, including BBC Radio Leeds, who really pushed the boat out when they relaunched back in 1990. I remember being in the studio when they were laying down the camera tracks for a tricky panning shot, and rigging up some nice red spotlights to make the studio look less tatty than it usually did!

In addition to what`s already been mentioned, up here in the grim North-East of England, GNR (Great North Radio – pre Magic) used part of the JAM song, featured at the end of the JAM In The UK montage. Century have had several campaigns over the years on Tyne Tees TV. I`ve also got several on VHS tape of Chris Tarrent on Capital`s breakfast show and they have sung jingles on them.
