For some reason, in my naive days, I assumed that Olivia Newton John and Andrew Gold sang on a couple of jingles from the 'You' package for Beacon – of course it wasn't them!
The one I'm talking about is the 50 second “I wanna sing your song . . . you and me and Beacon 303” – female/male versions. Great vocals.
Anyone know who they really were?

MemberNo idea who the singers were, but they were some of my favourite jingles ever. I get all nostalgic just thinking about them. For those who never heard them, here are the two cuts Enerjee is referring to …

So here's an Expert Level trivia question for you: Name the only jingle that has both Jon and Mary Lyn (of J.A.M. fame) singing on it ….. ? I will be quite impressed if anyone can get this. A clue: it's ancient, and obscure.

MemberThanks for the myspace link. We always enjoyed working with Patti, and it's fun to see what she's up to now.
It's interesting to note that at least 80% of the items in the audio montage that plays when you go to that page are from JAM (Record Connection, Magic, Living in Harmony, Hot Stuff, KMOX-FM, Cleveland Browns).
See? There are so many more JAM things out there to collect besides just “Breakthrough”…

I'd never heard the
'94.7 Magic ~ Detroit's Favourite Music'
version of that cut before,
Sounds like a one off, tight and melodic, bouncy and brief, a PERFECT jingle !

OMFG!!! The Record Connection lives! Including the pinnacle of all Bob Gentry bass licks you dropped into the fade. Patti was interesting, that's for sure. Musicaaaaaaaaaaaaaah…
I guess it's just a matter of time before somebody posts The Village Advocate…

Another one many of you probably weren't aware of:
Dick Hamilton's wife Linda (no relation to the actress), who was the female lead on most of Hamilton's jingles for Heller and TM.
I think Dick himself was also in the vocal group, but I can't recall for sure…

Hi all
Thanks for remembering. . . and listening. Jon, Those were exciting days, I cant thank You enough. Couldn't find WLS, the BBC or Radjo Jovem Pan … but, JAM gave me a great demo.

Linda lewis was on 194 radio City Package…. plus who was the singer who made it in to the charts and recorded manchester sunset jingles
October 5, 2008 at 8:06 pm #62540Devaweb
MemberHey Barry,
That was Lisa Stansfield… those Sunset jingles were really good – LBS in Stockport made them. I believe that Lisa was on some of the early GMR jingles as well?
