Slight confusion here Richie!
I WAS able to play yours no bother, even though it was originally flagged as “private”.
I CAN get MY S/c links to work as “public”, as anybody can.
BUT I cannot get my “private”-flagged links to work here, as seen by the S/C “not valid” message above.Yet somehow, you’re able to manage it.
I cannot fathom out where I’m going wrong! (and its only since the JM system rebuild).PS – I preferred “private” mode, which could only be “read” from specific links (i.e. on JM)
as opposed to “public” ones, why attract all sorts of “heid cases” and unwanted “followers”
who have no interest in jingles per se>December 11, 2020 at 9:35 pm #105606michiMemberBack in 1990, when I drove out to JAM to be “client in” for a couple of cuts I had done for REC, I sat in on other sessions taking place. One of those sessions was Q Cuts being sung for a country station. That was my first real exposure to an unintended format. Over the years, Q Cuts would eventually get done for KMLE Country 108 in (Chandler) Phoenix, KIIS 90 would end up on oldies KOOL-FM in Phoenix and the many “format violations” for jingles that have been heard on the montages of other collectors.
December 11, 2020 at 11:40 pm #105605WalkerbroadcastingI worked for a station that had been southern gospel which used the Miami’s Oldies WMXJ jingle package, when they transitioned to news/talk/classic country and later news/talk/classic hits (news talk by day, classic country at night) they used the Miami’s Oldies WMXJ package.
During WGGH’s southern gospel days, the full jingle would single “positive and family friendly, AM 1150 WGGH”.. and during the subsequent formats, we used the jingle sings without the “positive and family friendly” part in them
December 12, 2020 at 8:02 am #105604IainJohnstonAs mentioned in previous discussions, Ocean / Southern on the the south coast of England using JAM country (KSON etc) cuts on their MOR-ish format in the 1990s – and they worked well on air!

February 28, 2021 at 11:30 pm #105873ApolloI think sometimes stations get jingles that fit the area they serve, and not necessarily for their format.
WKHK had a country format using Breakthrough, like KMLE in the 90s.
There was another station that was basically a full-service AM station in the 80’s with Heller jingles. The jingles were urban, I guess because they served a highly urban area.
An oldies station in Texas back in the 90’s was using edited generic oldies jingles followed by Pepper Tanner country jingles. I thought it was unusual and didn’t really get it. When I stopped I noticed a lot of people wearing cowboy hats.
Then I got it.July 19, 2021 at 11:25 pm #106222firetypecinderaceMemberFab 94.3 (now The Drive) in Winnipeg had ReelWorld’s Majic 102. They were playing classic hits.

Reelworld CHR jingles are being used for “New Country” stations.
Exhibit A: KSKG in Salina uses the Kiss Seattle 2016 package.
https://soundcloud.com/user-930389112/999-kskgsalina-ks-legal-id-2016-countryand Exhibit B: WDAF-FM in Kansas City used to use the Kiss Seattle 2004 package before they went full-on ‘fuzion’d’.
https://soundcloud.com/kcmike/wdaf-fm-kansas-city-1065-the-wolf-reelworld-kiss-seattle-2004-march-2015Either this was their idea of what ‘future country’ sounds like, so they think it’s appropriate to use either of these packs.
March 2, 2022 at 7:12 pm #107326michiMemberQ-Cuts has been sung for many country stations. Oldies KOOL-FM in Phoenix used to run KISS90.
March 19, 2022 at 8:27 am #107372WalkerbroadcastingI worked for an AM station that was southern gospel and the owners got the TM Century “Miami’s Oldies WMXJ” package for the station. The station changed formats from southern gospel to news talk and kept the jingles, just dropped the “positive and family friend” positioner the gospel format had. The station later add classic country in the 6pm to 6am hours, dropping talk overnight… and when an FM went classic country, they added classic hits at night on the AM.. and all the while keeping the same jingles.
This is the only clip of the jingles I can find during the news talk/classic hits days.. and that is me at the beginning of the clip. Damn, i ran a tight board

November 26, 2023 at 6:11 am #109636firetypecinderaceMemberThere’s plenty of examples I’ve seen on the internet but this is one of the interesting ones I’ve heard. 1150 WIMA in Lima, OH had TM Century’s Motown Gold. 1150 WIMA is a News/Talk station having a classic hits package.
