Hi, someone’s asked me whether Jim sang on any TM stuf in the late 80s. Haven’t time to trawl the web for info. Can anyone confirm? cheers

I’m sure it’s Jim’s bass voice on Star Spangled Country ….and Hot Country as well.

I’m sure Tracy Carman would be able to give us an definitive answer – Tracy, over to you :D ….

Yes, Jim did sing with TM. Actually, he’s worked with most of the major Dallas jingle companies on various projects for many many years.

I was thinking specifically about the BBC Shropshire re-sings of The Magic of Boston. Guess that’ll be him then. many thanks for sharing your limitless knowledge. :)

As TOH said… yup, Jim was singing there.

I was in Dallas in 5/88 for a CPMG/PAMS session. The five voice group was Jim and his son Greg; Brian Beck (who sang at TM from the beginning ’til his departure from Dallas); Abby Holmes (one of the best voices in town); and Judy Parma (exclusive to JAM, now… and also one of the best voices in town). My brother, Barry, flew down for a session over the summer of ’88… and Kay Sharp was the 5th voice in place of Judy.

With the exception of Brian, who has moved to Colorado, the other five singers are still working in Big-D. If you look at http://www.reelradio.com/mpf/index.html you’ll see a picture of Futuresonic’s Versatiles group. Note that Judy and Brian are still singing in Dallas and Jerry Whitman is singing in Los Angeles. Jodie and Libba have retired from the business. The picture is 45 years old… as am I. (grin)
