September 23, 2009 at 5:53 pm #70150dogman849Well, at least they are going from one JAM station to another. KJOY uses Ready Mix if I am not mistaken.
September 23, 2009 at 8:37 pm #70154JingleMadMemberI thought KJOY ( K-Joy 99-3 started to use ReelWorld after Lite 102.9 Sharlet did a few weeks ago?
I'm really confused here.

We really meant WKJY “K-Joy” 98.3 from Long Island.
January 24, 2010 at 8:24 pm #72255ajsonnickWhat Jingle company does WKJY use?
January 25, 2010 at 5:11 am #72260ratnobMemberKJOY Long Island is using JAM. Here's two cuts recorded last night:
January 27, 2010 at 10:01 pm #72288ajsonnickoh cool thanks!
January 28, 2010 at 9:51 pm #72296IainJohnstonMemberHow odd to see a US “W”-station (WKJY call letters, surely cannot be KJOY) calling itself a name that suggests a “K” call – unless of course its nearly 90 years old and has a “heritage” call from before the West/East allocation donkeys years ago!
January 29, 2010 at 6:34 pm #72300GlennaMemberMust came after KDKA which was the first station in US. And WOAI in San Antonio Texas.
January 29, 2010 at 8:13 pm #72301DevawebMemberThere's quite a few stations with the “wrong” K/W calls. For example, here in Dallas we've got WRR 101.1, WBAP 820AM, and WFAA television… all in a sea of “K” calls.
January 29, 2010 at 10:25 pm #72304IainJohnstonMemberRight enough, there's lots of them – but I understand that they all date back a very, very long way indeed, and modern new-assignment calls have to nowadays fit the general pattern AFAIK.
(Other “ancient” K-calls very far east of the Mississipi (the notional but slightly flexible dividing line) included KQV Pittsburgh and KYW Philadelphia)
A Test question for call-letter anoraks!:-
What is probably the rarest call-prefix (i.e. fewest stations) in North America?October 5, 2010 at 2:36 am #75733ajsonnickdoes anyone know what WKJY/WKJI KJOY LONG ISLAND uses now? switched away from JAM it sounds like.
October 5, 2010 at 3:08 am #75734mjb1124MemberYou had me worried for a moment… but I'm listening to the stream now and they're still using JAM.
October 5, 2010 at 5:12 am #75736ratnobMember… whereas Fresh NY is now using Reelworld ….
October 5, 2010 at 10:09 pm #75750ajsonnickohh because JAM doesn't have the new kjoy package posted on their website? that's so weird! I wanted to give a listen! it's not the same ready:mix package that they normally use.
October 5, 2010 at 10:21 pm #75751ajsonnickhow do u feel about the wwfs new jingles from REEL?
i think it's better than the other ones (they put me too sleep!) LOLOLOL!!!
October 6, 2010 at 5:23 am #75753ratnobMemberAs ever with ReelWorld, I think they make small stations sound bigger and big stations sound smaller. For me, they're better on hot A/C formats than stations like Fresh.
October 6, 2010 at 5:49 am #75754Maya53I am wondering if KJOY Long Island indeed is using its new custom JAM package introduced earlier this year. All I know is that they were using the cuts from past AC packages, but the logo melody in each of them sounds different. The logo sounds similar to the old Windy 100 package from Reelworld.
October 6, 2010 at 3:36 pm #75761ajsonnickYea it does! I wish jam would release the package to listen!
October 6, 2010 at 5:11 pm #75764GlennaMemberRW jingles make reach for the asprin.
Or something else in a bottle. -
