August 21, 2005 at 10:00 pm #25063RobinBlamiresThanks to everyone for turning out at the George and it was great to see the usual culprits supplying the mix CDs which I will be listening to in the next few days.
Highlights included the shouts recorded in the corridor to the toilets at the George with the occasional interuption from the automatic driers. Towards 7.pm myself, the two Daves and Martin made our way to Leicester Square to have a quick chat with Hirsty outside what used to be the Capital Radio Cafe and as mentioned above enjoyed a welcome appearance by his co-host!
We then moved on to the Boadicea at Charing Cross station which was invaded by some very noisy Chelsea supporters who made our shout session sound like Bacharach! (and my T-shirt with colours identical to the Arsenal strip didn’t help either)
Overall thanks again to everyone for making the day absolutley stunning.

I am not sure if that was a good Idea Robin
I think next year it would be best NOT to wear RED if chelsea are playing 😉

August 21, 2005 at 10:40 pm #25065MartinSHope it was a grand day out for all those who managed to get there – sounds like it from some of the recent messages above!
Unfortunately I couldn’t make the big one again due to a hectic weekend in Blackpool.
After the first UK JD day in Yorkshire’s Leeds, London now seems as though it will be the regular venue.
It would be nice if we could have one of the smaller interim meets in Birmingham. Perhaps more of the southern UK jingle community would be prepared to travel up that far.

Anyway thanks to everybody for all the Jingle Mixes…..Haven’t got as far as the audio but some of those cover designs are superb!!
I still have 5 copies of my CD available to anyone in the UK who would like one (Just PM me your addy)

August 22, 2005 at 7:59 am #25067GrahamCollinsHi jingle fans – good to see the usual crowd again and be able talk about our fav subject without having to defend it.
Just finished touching up the shouts – as usual pretty damn good considering the ‘studio’ was a little cramped. Those concerned let me know where you want your cuts emailed as .wav’s and I’ll post a selection here shortly for general amusement

August 22, 2005 at 10:16 am #25068freq-kyGood to see you all and my apologies for not being able to stay the full hog this year.(Glad to hear about Katy Hill).
I’m was very sad to hear about Robins little incident.Especially as Arsenal are not wearing red this season (It’s redcurrent (or dark marroon) due to the team playing their final season at Highbury).Robin, the people who tried to antagonise you showed themselves up for what they are.Morons !!!!
I did manage to get through some of the CDs yesterday evening and so far,it’s Mssrs Bolton & Furness that had me crying.(The Broadland & Metro stuff respectively).
I’ve placed a post it note on my computer this morning reminding of Mr Wilsons request and attempting to burn a CD for the benefit of Mr McGrath.
Finally,my prize received a nervous look from a couple of Americans sitting in the opposite aisle.(Ever get the feeling Arbitron strikes terror in the US more than ol’ Bin Laden).
Oh well, back to work.TTFN.August 22, 2005 at 10:16 am #26068freq-kyGood to see you all and my apologies for not being able to stay the full hog this year.(Glad to hear about Katy Hill).

I’m not bitter about the incident at all and they weren’t doing anything directly at me (to start with anyway!). I just got carried away when they started singing the Arsene Wenger chant and I burst out laughing so hard I fell off my chair! I’m not sure what they were chanting after I fell off but it’s only a bit of fun and it’s because yesterday was a momentous event for Chesea supporters.
Overall the whole day has made me feel even more positive about moving to the big city in September.
