MemberLets be honest – Personally I think the Vibe Jingles were not so much parodies as blatent rip offs of other peoples work, they shouldn’t have done it. I don’t think Sandy Beech is due any respect for what in musical terms was copyright theft. I don;t doubt Vibe / Music 4 are talented writers / musicians and singers and they should not have done what they did.

Member….not forgetting of course that all time classic cut – “Glasgow Square” !!!
For those not having heard it, or who haven’t heard it for a while, I’ve
posted it in Anorak’s Corner, along of course with the pisstake version.Credits – 1) Pete Wilson’s Radio 1 compilation montage for Radio 1’s
biggest insult to Weegieland (er, thats Glasgow for our
Southern friends) since whatever the last one was,
2) whoever those truly fine vocalists were that made the
pisstake version! For the benefit of BBC producers who got a Z in ‘O’ grade UK Geography,
the impressive Victorian square in the heart of Glasgow is of course
“George Square”, as all of us outside of the M25 ring know very well !August 11, 2005 at 8:44 pm #17098Barras

Probably a case of badly positioned lyrics within a popular jingle.
Thanks for that Dave!

Just thought of another one Robin, KLOU in St Louis used some Best Show cuts too, slightly better lyrics than Grimsby Hospital Radio !

Awaiting my Best Show 2 Resing as we speak…

It was either The Best Show 1 or 2. but various cuts were used by WABC in Wolverhampton in the late 90’s just before being Classic Golded. Radio WM used a few of their cuts for years and had re sings made for the Midlands Radio Network night programmes. I worked out that the News In was played for at least 10 years on WM. The JAM master was dated Feb 88.
