Here’s an early Christmas gift for JAM and PAMS fans. As is the case with most audio I post, it comes with an explanation which you are honor-bound to read:

From time to time, work copies of cuts and packages find their way to the hard drive on my office computer for one reason or another. (This is not to be confused with our official archive copies, which are kept on dedicated servers.) I recently discovered that I had many Gigabytes of audio on my system hard drive which I no longer needed. But before deleting it all, I thought you might like to hear a random sampling of these random items.

Years ago, we used to occasionally make short samplers called “JAM Things”. They were just heard internally, and only existed so that staff and singers could hear some of the projects we’d recently done in their final mixed form. I suppose this is a continuation of that tradition, decades later.

So if you’re in the mood for 9:22 of nonstop “JAM Things 2014: What’s On Jon’s Hard Drive Today?“, here it is. This was thrown together in 20 minutes with no rhyme or reason, and for no discernible purpose. The material featured all seems to have been produced in the 2008-2012 era.

      Enjoy, and happy holidays!

Ho ho ho Jon, thanks for the montage – with not too much JINGLEbells ;-)

Where’s the Sergio Mendes soundalike at 7.05 from? A really good montage, mind.

The things that are in The Vault!

Lots of nice surprises in there Jon, thank you – and did I hear a sweery-wurd on a Jeffro cut? (not that he would ever think of asking for such a lyric of course… :-D )

Would love my hard drive to be ‘cluttered’ with such items. A fascinating and compelling early Christmas treat. Much appreciated.

Wow… really nice montage with great stuff all around and some nice surprises. There are a few stations here where I knew they were using JAM, but never heard these cuts before.

Regarding the Jeffro jingle, I was half-expecting to hear the uncensored version of his Z+ cut 17 resing… but the one here stops short of using the actual word. Also, I’d advise a certain user from Ohio to skip over the portion from around 1:20-1:30. :D

An awesome selection in that montage :)

What package is the cut from at 5m58s~6m08s? It’s beautiful sounding with superb vocals.
The sonovox at 7m55s “in the groove” sounds a little different than normal…?

wow santa! he came down early! finally we get a glimpse of what KABX uses! also, I have to ask, what station was magic 96-7, and classic rock k96-3 from? if WACV were still oldies, would’ve been all over that! and I see you’re back on in my old stomping grounds of san diego!

RHUMBA’D at that 1:20-1:30 mark!!!!! AAAAUGH! (Thanks for the warning, mjb1124)

Aside from that though, very impressive montage! :)

                                      did I hear a sweery-wurd on a Jeffro cut?

No… I don’t know what all the fuss is about the Jeffro cut. It just says “turn this mother up”. Last I checked, “mother” was a nice wholesome family word. Good thing we didn’t sing any more though. ;-)

If you’re studying lyrics, I’m surprised that no one asked “what’s she saying?” at the end of the Fresh cut at 4:20. And no one groaned about “we’re the fungi’s… Mushroom FM” at 8:11.

What package is the cut from at 5m58s~6m08s?

That’s cut #10 from Metro Country.

what station was magic 96-7, and classic rock k96-3

                                      I think that’s CHUC and CKKO-FM respectively.

                                      Glad you’re enjoying the jingles.

But I seem to recall KenR had an entire PACKAGE “orientated”, if thats the word, to clients with such a requirement! :)

Do you have any of the jingle samplers you’ve looped on-hold for your phone line over the years? I think those would be an AWESOME catch for collectors!

Listening to this fab Sampler you certainly can see the versatility of JAM…
Not just the Music Tracks (which any Jingle Company can do!)
BUT the vocal versatility is amazing…
My Favourite vocals of all time are the (Along The Coast?) cuts for Singapore Airlines (Which incidentally has nothing to do with this sampler!)
