I've just got my two latest JAM cuts – I am a fan of old R1 and 2 jingles so mine are from MITM and BS … see what you think. They are in the downlaod area

love the new cuts NickyFebruary 10, 2007 at 5:43 pm #28963RjMMore great personal cuts there for Mark and Nicky, thanks for sharing them. Great choice of lyrics in them both too, for me that's the the hardest part. To the many who have had a jingle re-sung, do you first think of lyrics and then find a suitable jingle to fit those lyrics, or pick a favourite jingle and choose lyrics to fit? Mark, where is the Happy New Year acappella at the start of your demo from?
February 10, 2007 at 7:54 pm #28965RobinBlamiresNormally a case for me trying to fit lyrics into a chosen cut. Of course Jon or Sean normally have a better vision than me!

Myself, I centre on a cut that I like musically (and by that I mean the track AND the vocal harmonies) and then adapt the lyrics to fit.
In contrast, clients sometimes give me the lyrics and then I go looking for tracks that will carry the phrasing and musical style of the brief.

I would guess that all of us on here will adopt this method, as being self-confessed jingle “anoraks”, we will all want our favourite jingles from old re-sung. It would be disappointing if we had some lyrics in our head but they only fit into some obscure cut that we don't remember hearing on a station.

It brings back fond memories… we often used to use the ramp version of that cut in 99/2000 just before the headlines in a morning when I was at Trax FM in Donny. It used to sound great.
