My piggy bank is almost full and I can soon afford a personal jam jingle. I've heard Jam are not very good at responding to such requests though?
Had I better start making enquires now, so they have time to get back to me?
April 23, 2003 at 8:51 pm #23250JingleMadMemberJAM do state that these are done on a “time available” basis, which is a fairly loose term! On one of my orders the whole thing was done within 10 days and I know someone else who got his inside of 4 days!
I think you’d be well advised to start telling them what you want and get a confirmed price – some packages were recorded with LA singers and other singers are no longer available – which is why you’ll always get a confirmation of the availability and price.
I normally get a reply within a few days.
Good luck.April 23, 2003 at 11:07 pm #23251JonnyhJon is normally very quick initially. He’ll ascertain exactly what you want and tell you how much it’s going to cost. When you’ve placed your order you should expect it to be about 4 to 6 weeks. If it’s a standard 5 or 7 voice group then it may be a little quicker but if it involves a soloist then it will probably be slightly longer because Jam try as hard as possible to use exactly the same talent as the original on every re-sing.
The nice thing about Jam is that they don’t take the money from your card until they’ve either just finished doing the cut or just about to start. Some companies I know have taken the money the minute you agree to buy a cut – which can be irritating when it then takes 8 weeks to arrive. No names!
I hope it turns out to your satisfaction. You’ll have to post it up here when you receive it so we can all hear.
May 28, 2003 at 6:30 pm #23286m_hodgeyMemberAs anyone on here actually had a personal cut produced to date that we can all hear?
I’m currently musing over the idea of having one produced myself and have spent the afternoon listening through all my JAM demo CDs picking out specific cuts from packages which would best accomodate the lyrics I have in mind. Only trouble is there are so many great jingle cuts JAM have produced over the years that I guess it’s going to take some time to narrow down the cuts I’ve pre-selected as possible candidates to the chosen one to be produced.
May 28, 2003 at 8:52 pm #23287MartinSI’m the same Mark. Decided I’d like to have one done, it’s just so so hard to choose with all the great packages they’ve done over the years.
Narrowing it down is the difficult bit, along with justifying spending the money to partner of course ! At the moment, I have cuts in mind from Breakthrough, Hyperlink and Energy packages. Time to worry when you start singing the lyrics you’d like.
Anyone else swayed towards a particular package/cut due to it being featured on one of their favourite stations?

So has anyone since had a cut from jam produced? How did the process go, and care to share some audio with us?
I too am still debating on the cut to go with, all my favourite cuts don’t seem to go with my choice of lyrics though.
September 28, 2003 at 9:42 pm #23407JingleMadMemberHi gang,
Well I’ve finally ordered 3 cuts (2 JAM and 1 PAMS)
Ordered about 2 weeks ago and the money was transfered from my card about 5 days ago….So I wait with baited breath!!! 😆
I will do a little ego compilation when they arrive…But it won’t be anywhere near as good as Sean Martin’s masterpieces!!!!Pete
September 29, 2003 at 8:38 am #23408RobinBlamiresIn the meantime I have uploaded a JAM cut that I had resung into the downloads area which should be online pretty soon.

Thanks Pete, I’m glad you enjoyed them!
Back in the 90’s, Pete sent me a load of tapes of his jingles. There were at least 20 and between him and Wycombe Radio they must’ve kept Alfasound in business for a good few years!
Pete’s also got some other gems that haven’t yet been featured in his egotrip (like the Coke and Summer Radio cuts), so let’s hope he gets to the next montage soon. His Turbo Z cut is just great!I’ve posted my egotrip montages for download and labelled them
Jingle JAM Number One, Two, 3 in the Personal cuts section.
A few PAMS resings are there too, “This is PERSONAL” .
Sweepers have been posted too, “80’s Sweeper Demo”.
A great montage by Dave Foxx at Z100 is also posted in the Classic Jingles section, “Z100 Birthday Jingle Montage”-Sean
November 28, 2003 at 6:30 pm #23431m_hodgeyMemberHi Guys,
Just to keep you all up-to-date; I have this week ordered and sent payment for my personal cut from JAM.
The male soloist who does the jingle which I have ordered will be in for sessions during the first or second week of December.
So here’s hoping I get my jingle in time for Christmas. If I do, and I certainally hope, I wonder whether or not to wrap it up and pop it under the tree untill Christmas Day!
November 28, 2003 at 9:12 pm #23432JingleMadMemberMark-
Congratulations on ordering your 1st JAM Personal Cut.
Even if there isn’t enough time to get the CD to you for the 25th, I’m sure Jon will provide a download of the main mix for you in time for Christmas.
What excitement !! An excellent Christmas gift!
-SeanDecember 1, 2003 at 7:24 pm #23435m_hodgeyMemberJust to let you know that my JAM personal cut will be available for a listen on my web site when I get it (if you’re interested).
While I’m writing I thought I’d let you all know that I will be starting a small, but nonetheless interesting, audio page on my web site very soon. Don’t worry though, I still will find time to post gems to this site too!

MarkDecember 2, 2003 at 11:20 pm #23437MadBe very interested to hear it Mark!

I have recently ordered a personal cut, the cut will be a re-sing from the new Coast Effective package for Coast 103.5 in Southern CA.

Might be worth removing the link to The Golden Web awards – it opens pop ups, one of which is picked up as a Trojan by my Antivirus software.
March 6, 2004 at 11:46 am #23710DJNice Jingle Ben
So How long did the whole process take from the time your orded the jingle to the date it arrived ?
Martin
March 6, 2004 at 2:08 pm #23712NickySMemberI still remember getting the little reel-to-reel box in the post with my JAM jingle on. It was way before the days of the JAM Personal Cuts … I had mine done for the early show that I presented on the BBC Local Radio stations in the South & East. Had to choose a cut that wasn’t being used by another station in the whole region. Went for a classic Z100 one
It’s on Pete’s personal cuts page. I still get the piss taken out of me at work for it – people singing ‘Get up in the morning with Nicky Schiller’ .. which proves that it worked!

The jingle was ordered on 10th February, it was recorded on Tuesday this week and it arrived yesterday via Fed Ex / Business Post.
I think you have to wait until they have a studio session booked.
Are you interested in getting a cut re-sung then Martin?
March 11, 2004 at 3:49 pm #23749RichardWhat can I say I have had a number of both PAMS and JAM personal cuts made over the past couple of years and have ordered some more a couple of weeks ago. I have found both product and service easy and first class. I must download them soon and let you all enjoy. Long live JAM and let’s hope UK radio get’s a grip and gets back to real jingles cos they’re FUN!

March 12, 2004 at 10:59 am #23761JingleMadMemberThe Richard Johnson Show
Richard’s Jingles are now available in the download section, as a 5-minute medley. That file is in mono (quicker for dial-up) and is a smaller download than the full stereo version, for which the link is below.
Richard’s Show Launch Pad (100% JAM):
http://www.passioncafes.com/radioplay/show-starter.mp3I’ve processed these files in mp3pro.
