Hello all, I’m hoping someone can help please ?
I’m after a JAM personal cut and am trying to explain how i’d like it sung. Now the best way would be to provide a rough audio sample of the cut in question. It’s only the one cut and don’t care about quality but wan’t to reply to Jon @ JAM with the audio attached so I can sort the order.
it’s WCBS FM – Do it again resung for Beacon Radio circa 1993/94 and it’s cut 1 thats required, with “101.1 WCBS FM New York” Cut resung for Beacon as….
“The latest Hits And The Greatest Memories, 97.2 FM, Beacon Radio”
It used to have a DJ acapella at the end. It’s the Beacon version i’m after as the style & some of the wording is what i’m hoping JAM can create.
I hope someone has a copy of this cut (any quality)
Many thanks all, Simon

Thank you very much, the email back from JAM was querying how i’d fit all the words into the resing & the Beacon version explains it better than I lol……..
Thanks again !
January 23, 2005 at 12:19 pm #24557mbMemberYou have to give to to the team at Beacon who produced all of their JAM packages – often they were lyrically better and sounded better sung for Beacon than they did for Z100 or CBS FM. I think Beacon 85 – 95 were one of the stations in the UK with the best imaging.
January 23, 2005 at 3:35 pm #24558GingalHi simon_t123
I’m very suprised that you are having so much trouble explaining to JAM what you would like and how you would like it sung, especially resings for the UK.
In my limited experience, I have always found JON W to be very helpful with things of this nature, and he will take it on personally to communicate with the buyer. His knowledge and expertise is second to none (no we’re not related lol), and this, in my opinion, is why JAM is THE number one for Jingles (hey Jon that could catch on as a slogan!!).
He will advise if a script is too “crowded”, and may suggest altering it slightly. In my opinion, JAM would not just take your words and sing the jingle regardless, like some companies would do.
May I suggest that you try and get hold of Mr W and I am sure he’ll look after you personally (Oh Matron!!).
Good luck!!! (and if that doesn’t get me a discount the next time I want a P.C, I don’t know what will lol!!)
January 23, 2005 at 5:39 pm #24559simon_t123MemberAuthorAfternoon all ! thanks for last reply Gingal, it was Jon infact that replied, I didn’t mention the beacon re-sing at the time so he was being very helpful and assisting how I could get me words into the original WCBS version.
Anyway to cut a long story short, it’s really hard to explain lyrics in email so I thought I’d attach the cut in the style needed.
Of course JAM did sing the cut for Beacon so i’m sure he’d recall anyway, it was more for my sanity that I wanted to copy the cut to him.
And MB I agree the sings for Beacon were class, hence the cut i’m after, Beacon totally changed the way it flowed IMHO. The package circa 1996/7 still sung as Beacon Radio is one package I always have pleasure listening to.
Chiltern to had some great JAM variations, the re-sings of Beat ’92 are hard to come-by mind, but I can safely say that JAM ruled when I was growing up and still do now !
Of course TMCI are cool also, they did my resings of the FIVE package.
Finally for the mo, something to consider…… Reelworld quoted £350 per cut on individual basis for web based station use only, licenced for a year. For those with deeper web radio pockets (I wish……)
January 24, 2005 at 1:03 pm #24560BarrasDoesn`t matter which jingle company you order your personal cut from, just remember these insightful words from William B.Tanner………..

My God you would definately have to be “Tone Deaf Collector Number One” to pay that sort of price for ONE Jingle! 😆
January 25, 2005 at 6:12 am #24565simon_t123MemberAuthorWell yes the deal @ Reelworld isn’t exactly cheap ! It was for a long-ish cut that had shorter & sub versions. Quoted at $700, which for a web station for only 1 year is a helluva lot !
JAM’s personal cuts are about £150 each if they take your fancy, Top format in the Netherlands wanted 500 eur per cut, and of course Real Radio’s package is available now via Devaweb / Bespoke (cuts were on offer at around £135) So a variety of companies catering for small orders at a variety of prices.
TMCI did the FIVE package resings for us and the costs (installments available) total abut £600 for in that case 5 cuts. Real value though is in acapella’s as imaging designers can be given your acapella’s to remix in almost endless proportions !
I’ve got my eye on another TMCI package for the main project i’m on to supplement FIVE which has quite a retro sound (but cool for entry package) and when you consider TMCI will do 10 full cuts with mixes for £70 a month with £300 deposit I think u’ve got a blinding deal
The Beacon JAM cut I originally posted about is for a second project where only one cut is needed for top of hour, the rest is sweeper led.
February 20, 2005 at 11:59 pm #24619NickySMemberRather than start a whole new topic thought I’d just post to say I got my personal cut from JAM the other day and you’ll find it in the download area (thanks Mr H) .. it’s called Nicky’s Best Show cut … I have to say I was very impressed with the service from Jon – he was great and the final product is fab …. although if you’re not a jingle anorak it won’t mean much. The good exchange rate means it’s a good time to think about cuts from the US (god I sound like a salesman) but I’ve already ordered another cut after this one arrived.
February 21, 2005 at 11:22 am #24620m_hodgeyMemberGreat jingle Nicky and thanks for sharing it. I had thought about having that particular cut done myself before I finally opted for the Turbo Z one – I just couldn’t get the lyrics to fit right. Can’t wait to hear the next one.
February 21, 2005 at 10:14 pm #24623MartinSSounds great Nicky, novel too. Bet the JAM singers love getting the change to sing about jingles!
The more I here, the more I want to order. Managed to finalise my first order in just over a week ago – so can’t wait! Took me ages to order as I struggled with the lyrics a bit.

February 22, 2005 at 7:54 am #24624GingalGreat stuff NickyS, always loved this track.
That Cheryl (opening solo voice) sure has a great voice.
Thinking about ordering another Personal Cut myself, it’s certainly very addictive isn’t it (it will be bread and dripping for the kids for a while if I do). Seriously though, with the exchange rate so good at the moment, it really is a great time to think about spending money on jingles. Finally, bear in mind that it’s between £30-£50 extra to use a solo voice instead of a full sing, quite right too.
Thanks again Nicky and happy jingling!!!

Glad you liked it … and yes it’s amazing that 20 odd years after she did the original R1 version she still sounds as clear and bright as she did then. And it is addictive … already thinking about my next one but as you said with the exchange rate so good there has never been a better time to get that childhood favourite jingle re-sung. And Jon helped me with lyrics as did JVS at 3CR as lyrics are not my strong point.
NFebruary 22, 2005 at 9:11 am #24626BigdaveAs for Cheryl , she’s on this picture of the 1987 team that sung “Britain’s Favourite”
