MemberIs it me? or are JAM's vocal's on these various 2009 re-sings of KOST etc cuts (and others) more high-pitched, with a higher more-noticable lead male vocalist and less of the deeper, slightly more “sophisticated” vocal group sound of the KOST sings/re-sings in the past???
Good to hear JAM still getting orders though! – but how does a station “with no commercials” pay for its package, especially if say it cannot therefore even offer bartered airtime in payment [confused?!?!]

Also consider that Tom and Judy Parma retired from the jingle business, and I think Carolyn Kershaw is the third girl in the seven-voice group…
Sorry, I don't do well in recognizing jingle vocal groups, but if anyone can point me in the right direction in the current JAM seven-voice vocal group configuration, that would be great!

for WVLT, the jock cut, is that jam, if so, what package was that, even if it wasn't jam.Tyrone,
I don't know the package, but the jock cut is from TM Studios. I happen to know this cut in particular because my local AM station used that cut for the weather. The station: 1570 WPTW (Licensed in Piqua, Ohio, I think).
Hope this answers your question!

rick roll is refering to an internet meme started by 4chan, correct me if i'm wrong, if any of you guys know memes like i do, you get rick rolled when you here the song, “never gonna give you up” by rick astley. and the song gets stuck in your head. the highest rick roll capassity was broken thanksgiving of 2008, when millions of people got rick rolled at the macy's parade. video on youtube. most of you from the states who are online and know memes know what i'm talking about.

MemberFor those of us without a US-English/UK.- English phrase book, could Tyrone please translate the words “rick roll” and “memes” for those of us educated to speak the Queen's English!
Thank you :^)February 11, 2010 at 3:20 pm #72390Devaweb

I still here jam onKOST and love the one for WOGL! I dunno but I think Jam is still going on WLS Chicago. I agree that they should put jam back on z100 and I'm hoping that they'd bring back KKHR. Does jam still do KOSI Denver? I'd suggest they do 98.7 KLUV Dallas fort worth! They'd do wonderful with their classic 70's-80's packages! Last I heard they did for WOGL was the fire package originally used for WFYR chicago. What package was that first WOGL legal ID? and i'm still pondering what package they used in 2003 for WYJB Albany. We seriously need jam on KRTH! I'd say positron, home of the hits, pro-mod, and priority 1 would be fine. I hear they're still on KXKL Denver-boulder! Please put jam back on b104 baltimore!Yes, you can still here a few JAM cuts on KOST. Pretty much only on the evening Lovesongs on the Coast show. As for KRTH, as much as I love JAM that'll never happen. They use the Johnny Mann Singers as this is a continuation of the famous Drake format. KRTH used to be KHJ-FM and they carry on with the Boss Radio heritage in Los Angeles.

(sorry, Tyrone) However, if KRTH wants to continue with the Drake jingle heritage, then they made the right choice. I have a few cuts on CD that has the KRTH acapellas from the 1990s through 2000. Would you like to hear it? (not on this thread, though, because that would go off-topic!)
As far as KOST goes, I'm not sticking around…

i can live with that!

Member“memes” and “rickrolling”…
Thanks Chris!
I'd heard about that “Rick Astley” video guff a while back. Didn't know that the “trendies” of the Internet world had created their own “language” for such (to me persoanlly) pointless & vacuuous fluff! :^)Maybe I should start using more “auld Scots” words in my Posts? perhaps that would cause similar confusion to those that feel a need to constantly parrot “hip” phraseology! (…or whatever the latest version of “hip”, “cool” etc is these days!)

MemberWOCL has rebranded slightly from “Sunny 105.9” to “105-9 Sunny FM”. They're still using JAM, but now have resings from '80s Z100 packages.

So far I'm hearing a mix of Turbo Z and Z World.
February 17, 2010 at 11:50 pm #72505Barras
Thanks Mike for posting the JAM Aicheck of Sunny FM…superb !
Love the TOH cut and their use of Z World #25 using the line “Stuff to do with Sunny FM” – UK jingle fans will recognise that jingle from Radio One in the 1990s.
I tried to aircheck more JAM jingles from Sunny FM but the “listen live” wouldn`t connect here in the UK, I`ll try some other time.

MemberYou're welcome… and this should work…
http://provisioning.streamtheworld.com/pls/WOCLFM.plsMy thoughts… these jingles sound good, but I'm not sure how well they fit the format, which mostly features '70s and early '80s music. I might have gone with older Z100 jingles (Warp Factor, Flame Thrower) or even Breakthrough. But the station does sound a lot more energetic now, with the DJ's actually showing some personality.
February 18, 2010 at 9:47 pm #72514Barras
Thanks for link but that one doesn`t work either, keep getting this message in the UK…
“Attention valued listener….
From February 1st due to strict licensing laws all CBS, AOL and Yahoo music streams will cease to be available beyond the borders of the US.
Who`s to blame ? – I`ll tell you…suits, suits filled with lawyers, lots and lots of lawyers………….”

MemberWell, that's a shame. Guess these stations can no longer brag about being able to be heard “around the world”.
