MemberListened to Sunny 104.3 for a while yesterday. Here's how it's sounding. I've left the opening of the Chicago song intact because it contains the lyrics which inspired one of our favourite jingle packages …

How?From page 224 of The Hits Between The Hits by Don Worsham…and I quote:
“In 1974 the Wolferts planned their move to Toronto, Canada. The JAM masters were being mixed evenings and weekends so as to not interfere with PAMS production schedules. JAM productions Ltd never went beyond this stage. On Saturday one week before the final trip to Toronto was to be made with a U-Haul trailer full of tapes, Bill Meeks and his brother Charlie met with Jon Wolfert to sign the final contract that would formalize the relationship with Jam Ltd. And PAMS. At that meeting, the Meeks pulled out of the deal. According to Wolfert, the reason given for cancelling their deal was that the Meeks were fearful that a PAMS competitor, JAM, would have their tracks, so PAMS had to own the new company (Jon Wolfert 7-96).
Wolfert`s empty Toronto apartment and a set of new master tapes locked up at PAMS were all there was to show for six months work.”

Where then did Freedman get into the mix.September 2, 2009 at 12:32 pm #69565IainJohnston
Member“Where then did Freedman get into the mix.”
Thats where it DOES get complicated!
The convoluted history can be found in the various KenR and Freedman publications, written & audio, including the saga of the “PAMS tapes that were (possibly) going to go into the dumpster”.
Regardless of the pros & cons of the Deutch/Freedman saga, at least at just the right time they saved those Master tapes of the PAMS tracks for posterity!
