Good to hear from you RAK !

Not sure if you`ve seen this before or not – it`s a video I posted a while back featuring “Sunny In The Morning” using Jon Wolfert sonovox & JAM jingles on Y-100.

As our Americans friends say…enjoy !

You can also add WGNI (102.9 FM) Wilmington, NC to the list. Their top of the hour is a simple “W-G-N-I Wilmington”. I believe it is cut 14 from Brite and Sunny.

          dogman849,

thanks for the JAM pointer to WGNI.

Good to see GREAT jingles being used so well…

Another memory from that trip was that CLASSIC Power Pig JAM cut

'Waking u up with a oink oink oink

            3 little Pigs

            on Power Ninety Threee !'

GREAT to hear that again David ~ thank you

I remember asking the engineer doing the Trent / GEM 'mix downs' at one of our Jam sessions WHO had the idea for that cut and it was him ~ Brian Hamilton!

Thanks for the “JAM fact” Len regarding who had the idea for that cut. We met Brian in 2004 during our JAM visit – wasn`t Brian a scientist or physicist who stumbled into the world of jingle production ?

An American jingle collector friend of mine sent me a JAM package for WGNI – he asked me not to post any of it on the web, so I won`t, however, here`s the lyrics to the WGNI station song, feel fee to sing the lyrics over JAM`s IT`S NICE cut #19…

I`ve gotta feeling and I like to show it, just look around and you`re gonna know,
It`s nice in Wilmington, the family place we can live and grow,
It`s nice in Wilmington with 103 GNI radio

Enjoy a day at Greenfield Park, Paladin Hall after dark,
A day at the beach or the battleship show, making movies at the film studio,
Downtown or around town or where-ever you are, Gatefield river or in your car,
Historic downtown or at the mall, the Port city has got it all,

It`s nice in Wilmington, a family place for you and me,
                    It`s nice in Wilmington, so nice and that`s why we`re proud to be 102.7 – 103 GNI…FM

SOLID GOLD FM in New Zealand is using some of the old WCBS FM jingles from 1992 and 2004. I just love how they use the jingles. Apparently, the jock uses the jingles to go into a commercial break.

You can get this station online… http://www.solidgoldfm.co.nz

I lived in Christchurch New Zealand for 6 months in 2005 and was 3 minutes away from my 'local' radio station (much of which was syndicated even then) Nothing I heard on it made me want to visit the studios or comment on it now

You might enjoy listening to the oldies on-line on Solid Gold FM though, let's face it oldiesareoldies …. it's a hard format to get WRONG…..

….. and you get JAM Do It Again jingles inbetween!

I've heard several not on the sample above, and they use the acapella mix outs ~ BUT few of cuts have lyrics before the end (?) I've heard 'The Greatest Hits !'

My other comment is that the 'clients station name' is one syllable too long for the space where the name is sung so it's a little garbled?

Hey they are playing the Honeycombs 'Have I the Right' ~ with Honey Langtree on Drums (as we ILR dj's ALWAYS used to say….!)
