A couple days ago a friend of mine caught this piece of the Hitradio TOH cut on 105.3 WYKS Gainsville, FL. Believe it or not, this is a CHR/Top 40 station! This is a small station, obviously not owned by one of the big corporations. I have no idea if they use it all the time, or if they've had it ever since the 80s.

MemberI listened for a while, and it does seem like they use that TOH regularly. What's curious is that the phrase “Hit Radio WYKS” only seems to be heard in that jingle – otherwise they're known as “Kiss 105.3 – Gainesville's #1 Hit Music Station”. I also heard a spoken legal ID shortly before that jingle played. I would guess it is indeed from the '80s (they've been a CHR since 1981), and this is a nice way to show their heritage.

You may want to try a program call HideMyIP.
You can set your IP address to USA – I did this and was able to watch tv content on youtube that was blocked everywhere outside the USA.
Also, it's free to try before you buy!February 20, 2010 at 12:40 am #72520tyty21
ooooooooooooh! nice top of hour for WYKS! niiiiiiiiice!

http://www.hide-my-ip.com/Thanks for the advice Mike, I`m guessing that in theory it should work for “radio” too. Is there any chance you could give it a go please and let me know if it`s okay, before I consider getting “hide-my-ip”…

The trial period is only 14 days and it was last year that I installed the program. For me, it wasn't worth buying it as I just wanted to watch a youtube video that I was interested in at the time.

No problem Mike, I`ll give it a go sometime…

I have from the highest authority (!) that the Terry Wogan jingle on Radio 2 has been remixed….
“the vocal sound at the end”
Haven`t actually heard it yet but will listen on Sunday, here`s a JAM Aircheck of the original one…

Member“Highest authority” meaning Jon Wolfert? Or even Terry Wogan himself? In any case it's good to see that Jon and company are committed to releasing the best possible product, and listening to their clients' concerns. This should be for the better, as I personally think that while the original ending isn't terrible, it still detracts from what is otherwise a perfect jingle.
On another note, Albany's “Magic” has changed frequencies from 100.9 FM WKLI to 590 AM WROW. They have newly resung JAM jingles as a result of the change.

wow! another 2-company-in-1 station, added TMC I see!

MemberJust sideways, the WKLI FM move of its oldies format to the long-standing (and recently talk-format) WROW cropped up the other day on the New York Radio Message Board – an unusual move of music radio back to AM (which is anything but dead in the USA, even if shrinking rapidly in other countries).
And good to see that JAM get the contract for the re-sings!

MemberThanks… that's a good enough answer for me.
So, has anybody heard (or better yet, recorded) the reworked jingle? Or has it even aired yet?

Hi Mike,
there is another thread running at the moment about the Terry Wogan JAM jingle, I posted the “first” version and will try and get the others posted in a few days, here`s the link…

MemberI've recorded some more cuts from the new KEZK JAM custom, and I figured I'd post them here instead of derailing the KOST thread further off-topic. Unfortunately I haven't been able to get the beginning of the weather cut as the stream always cuts it off.
I do have to hand it to JAM for this package -they've come up with something that works with the feel of the music while still sounding timeless and unique. It does definitely have some elements of current music though – I didn't even realize the third cut here was a jingle at first until the singers came in! But it's all great.
The first montage below is the one I posted initially in the KOST thread, and the second is the new one. Enjoy!

K-Joy 98.3 recently began simulcasting on 96.1, which was formerly Love 96.1. Most recently they were just "96.1" using KOST jingles with the "Love" cut out.
Now they have new jingles as "K-Joy Long Island." Prevoiusly 98.3 had been using Ready Mix, and I know the weather bed is still the same. Anyone know what the rest are?
Here's what I caught by recording the stream for a couple hours this afternoon.

Thanks to Mike for the KEZK JAM jingle airchecks and Jeff for WKJY – those jingles sound fresh and good on-the-air, I appreciate you both uploading the audio….
In fact, it`s even more appreciated nowadays because on this side of the pond, jingle collectors and online radio listeners in the United Kingdom don`t have access to all USA radio station streaming, due to the blocking of output.

MemberI really like those K-Joy jingles – the folks at JAM did a great job of fitting the dual frequencies in there, and it's good to hear different variations of the same cuts as well. Not sure what package(s) the jingles come from – it's not a new custom, is it? In any case they sound great.
I noticed the logo for KKLZ Las Vegas on the JAM Radio ID's page with the slogan "Greatest Hits". So I thought I'd take a listen to hear what they've got, and they're using resings from Home of the Hits. During the first hour I listened, which was the "70's at 7", I heard some other cuts that I'm pretty sure were not JAM, but during the second hour (with their regular format) it was all HotH cuts. So they must be phasing those other jingles out – "nice move" on their part!

alright, another station is using jam here. Big 95.7 (KBGO) in waco, is using jam's express pack from the looks of it. they go by 95.7, BGO, but on my presets, they also go by “big 95.7” i'm airchecking now. a few checks should be up sometime today.

alright, here's a sampler of KBGO in waco, Texas using the express pack cut 5. i think,

OK, another update, they're using the AM weather bed and matching vocal tag. they start out with “central texas weather, then goes straight into the bed.” I missed out on the sing part, but i did manage to get the end sing.

I`m pleased to say, there`s an American radio station I can get on the internet in England in the United Kingdom, so they`re not all blocked…
Must be a JAM composite package as not just Express Pack – I`ve just heard them use the weather cut from Outstanding.
Thanks Tyrone for the heads-up and discovering another JAM station, you`re the “jingle Columbo” of JAM Jingle Airchecks !
