if you go to Pete Wilson`s jingle site and click on “JAM demos” – you will find the “Country JAM” demo contributed by a certain JAM fan…………me !
Pete has some fantastic “lost” JAM demos uploaded to his website, including:
Basics
On The Move
Best Country
WSM Package
Make It Mellow
We`ll Make Your Day
Have We Got A Time For You

YOU`VE GOT IT

May 8, 2008 at 8:24 pm #59160ratnobMemberLove it – I'd forgotten what a classic this is.
I admire this package on many levels. Partly it's full of many cuts I remember recording off air from Radio One and Two back in 1976 and 1977 – pure nostalgia. Also it's such a well-made demo – all that “Coke” “Pepsi” stuff makes a great point about the value of jingles. And then there's just the great jingles, frm the singovers to the long songs. It's my ambition to get one of the theme songs as a personal cut one day – they still sound fabulous.
Thanks, David.

Dear jam………(as the demo goes)
We would like 500 re-sings from “you've got it” (grin)May 9, 2008 at 3:14 pm #59187mumossI would pay good money for a massive boxset full of every single JAM demo, done like 'The Magic of PAMS'…
May 9, 2008 at 3:44 pm #59188GlennaMemberWouldn't we all!!!
May 9, 2008 at 5:31 pm #59195BarrasGeoff,
you`ve mentioned the part of the demo that when I first heard it (30 years ago) re: “coke, pepsi, 7up” summed up what shotgun & short jingles had become. Without sounding “over-the-top” – I think the You`ve Got It package is a work of art, a Picasso of the jingle world ! – I always thought You`ve Got It was ahead of its time and the “soft” part of the package could be used today by stations like Smooth in the UK.
I`m hoping Jon Wolfert might read this post one day and let us know who actually wrote You`ve Got it, was it Jon himself or a joint composition with perhaps Chris Kershaw ?
Something else Jon might confirm…is there a demo version of You`ve Got it sung totally by the Ron Hicklin singers of Los Angeles instead of the Dallas singers ?
Dare I mention the jingle trip (again !) of 2004 to Dallas, from when Jon & Mary took us out to lunch and I can quote Jon on saying…You`ve Got It and several other demos not featured on previous JAM CDs – would feature on the NEW Classic JAM CD…

May 11, 2008 at 7:07 am #59229BarrasInside the entry way to JAM, there is a plaque on the wall. The Latin inscription is “Tempus Consumit Res Creare”, which means “It Takes Time To Make Things”.

May 14, 2008 at 6:39 pm #59348IanMemberWell thanks to Mr Barras for the “You got it demo” I've had a little play around with a familiar Radio 1 cut.
A pointless exercise, but I've had fun doing it.http://jinglemad.com/e107_files/public/1210790375_1010_FT61536_radio_1_remix.mp3 filename:radio_1_remix.mp3
