I was going through the Jam photo album on their website. In the 80’s section there is an ad that was in the radio and records magazine. It listed Jam at 4631 Insurance Lane. Jam moved in 1987 to their current location on Parkdale Drive. Thompson Creative’s address is 4631 Insurance Lane. They are in the old Jam studios. Very Interesting.

Yes Jeremiah….Thompson Creative I guess were hoping that by moving there they would capture some of the JAM Magic…..But as we all know they didn’t!!! 😆
November 1, 2004 at 7:44 pm #14163jkubiakUnfortunately, that is true. I dont want to slam thompson at all, but I rarely see Thompsons work in jingle collections. But I can say, is that they do good country packages.

November 1, 2004 at 10:25 pm #14165BigdaveI think Thompson suffers from the fact that because the Big 2 have had such a hold over British stations , you only heard their work on smaller ILR stations and RSL’s . It’s true to say that they can be hit and miss at times -but cuts from packages like More Memphis and Dallas Mix 3 were heavily rotated by Channel 103 in Jersey along with TM’s Boston’s Best Music up until a couple of years ago and did’nt sound too much out of place .
Mind you,it must be hard when you’re putting yourself up against JAM and TM – who’ve turned out classic package after package year after year.
November 1, 2004 at 10:32 pm #14166jkubiakVery true. When it comes to packages, the only companies to turn to are Jam, TM or Reelworld. The work from those companies are outstanding. Jam is the number one choice in my book. Their vocal quality is excellent. Their attention to detail and adaptation is outstanding!
November 2, 2004 at 11:25 am #14170DJI ordered a few personal cuts in the late 70’s from thompson
and was a bit dissapointed, the problem is they use a bank of
about 20 singers and its all a bit hit and miss who you will getBoth TM and JAM use the same singers that are used on the demo
so you know what you are getting quality over quantity anydayNovember 2, 2004 at 3:03 pm #14173BarrasHere`s some of the Thompson Creative master DATs. Unfortunately, didn`t spot the master DAT for Atlantic 252 but we did talk with Larry Thompson about that package and how good it sounded on-air, despite being on good old mono Long Wave.
