Jon
… thanks for the inside info on the vocals!
I was VERY fortunate to sit through about 10 days of the Trent/GEM vocal sessions during my visits to JAM. I never got tired of watching how the group interacted, who sang what, you or Brian on the panel, Chris suggesting subtle additions to the blocks, you doing sonovox ~ it was all fascinating.
As I learned I requested 'certain' singers ~ they are all GREAT but I loved Jackie as lead on the AM packages, and Abby on most of the FM. If I had known Judy did lead as well I'd love to have had that KKOL sound also !!
Speaking of 'Holy Grails' I stil feel 'Omni Tracks' was one of the best vocal / instrumental packages EVER. I know (believe?) the demo was not for the original station it was made for, is there a good story behind that? Also who were the writers on that package?
Like the Beatles, you had too much 'good stuff' all appearing at once and I think 'Omni Tracks' was overlooked. I think even now it's the perfect 'pop' radio package for 30-60 year olds.
Many thanks & Best wishes
Len

Thanks for doing “JAM Bits and Pieces” Jon, some fantastic JAM creations so far.
The recently added Z93 station songs bring back good memories for me from when I first wrote (yes, I actually put pen to paper and wrote a letter, didn`t have email etc…then !) to a certain Mr Wolfert in 1980 and you kindly sent me a cassette which features the Image Songs demo 1979, which I think is also called “Windy songs” and starts off my jingle-list at #0001…

October 25, 2009 at 9:12 pm #70814cando24Loved the 1988 Air Force montage Mr. Jon, especially the “Good Vibrations” sounding one as well as the final cut in the montage, because as you well know, I'm a sucker for French horns.

October 26, 2009 at 6:40 pm #70825GlennaMemberIn reference to the Singapore cut KOST cut,
It reminds me about the time I was flying between Portland Ore and Houston Texas on Continental Airlines and listening to Harry Newman ( KLAC)doing a promo for a jingle package from Toby Arnold called 'There's Only One' which his station KLAC was using. Made my day.October 27, 2009 at 9:10 pm #70866JAM / PAMSMemberAuthorImage Songs demo in stereo (also known as “Windy Songs”) 1980. Mr. Barras,
The “Image Songs” demo was constantly changing. New cuts would be added and old ones would be retired. So at any given point your copy of that demo might be different from someone else's.The name “Windy Songs” refers specifically to three songs made for WNDE. It is likely that the “Windy Songs” were included on the “Image Songs” demo for a while, but it wouldn't have been the name of the whole demo (unless a secretary got the label wrong!) Also, FYI, it was WKBO Harrisburg (not WBBO), and WJAR Providence (not WJRR).
PS. I wonder if anyone has noticed the 2007 XM Radio aircheck that was recently added to JAM On The Air? We've done lots of fun things for XM (and Sirius too)- this just scratches the surface.
October 27, 2009 at 10:21 pm #70867BigdaveLoved the variation on XM when I've listened online using a trial period,Jon- now only if the UK could catch on to the same,I'd be a happy man.
At the end of the day, there's nothing as good as great music and great jingles used well!
October 28, 2009 at 3:12 am #70868tyty21love the stuff you guys are currently doing for syrius-xm 50's, 60's, 70's, and 80's! especially the 70's and 80's channels! i watch via direct tv! love the priority 1, logo set, and positron on 7, and skywave, flame thrower, and you guys did use a little of TZ on 8! plus warp factor and a hent of z-world and z-force on the same line! hey, what happened on channel 9! i only heard a z+ on 9 not any others. Weird thing, i thought i'd come across a time when you guys were gonna use express pack on 7, and packages like “i'd rather be”, “nonstop power”, “best show 1 and 2”, “hit radio 1 and 2”, “q cuts”, and “double plus” on 8! lol! it was like on 7, 8, and 9, you guys were throwing jingles outta nowhere, and i never knew what jingle was coming up next. and i'd aircheck all of them, a jam fan's dream. ha ha! but it's only a dream.
October 28, 2009 at 4:36 pm #70878GlennaMemberThanks Jon.
I also heard (when XM did a Beatles weekend) the PAMS/JAM “Big L” jingle.October 29, 2009 at 10:16 am #70887TonyCurrieLoved the “20 Years of KOOL Concerts” – clearly inspired by The JAM Song!
October 29, 2009 at 10:56 am #70889ratnobMemberSo much good stuff. Our cup runneth over with jingles! Thank you.
October 29, 2009 at 6:39 pm #70898loujosephsI dubbed the 350 song to cart while production director at WROR. One morning berko puts this on the ampex and says listen to this..naturally speakers crank up and the whole 4th floor hears….great stuff..we did a full up remote when the tall ships came into town for this Boston event..that's what good local radio was…shame they can't afford to do it anymore
October 29, 2009 at 7:05 pm #70899loujosephsHey Jon, why don't you do berkos greatest jingles..wror, wpro, pro fm, wjr, and other great stations he's been at, then do the best of consulting, all the stations he has done with great 25-49 ratings…that would be fun..
October 30, 2009 at 5:21 pm #70909GlennaMemberDon't forget WNIC. {I know you said others}.
Did Berko do the return of WCBS-FM?October 31, 2009 at 3:02 pm #70927jingleoneLove the KRNA version of the Iowa fight song! I have a penchant for JAM sports beds. The lush orchestrations and brass are second to none… The #1 Voice, Focal Point, Sportsradio and Spirit of 76 are just a few examples of these wonderful pieces of sports music. I've always gotten a big kick out of hearing these sports beds adapted for different teams. Personal favorite – WPRO-AM's adaptation of the KNBR Good Times sports bed. “Take a Giant Step and Go” became “Put Your Red Sox On…” Please keep these JAM “Bits and Pieces” coming and an on-going thank you for what you keep putting up!!!
November 4, 2009 at 5:52 pm #70966BarrasJust to let fellow JAM fans know, Jon Wolfert has added more great jingles to his “Bits and Pieces” on the JAM website, this time for CFLS Quebec.
Thanks Jon….
November 4, 2009 at 5:59 pm #70967GlennaMemberMust of added it on late yesterday.
I checked on it earlier in the day.
Its just like a JINGLE CHRISTMAS.November 4, 2009 at 7:40 pm #70968nostalgieA big “thank” Jon for CFLS… I am so happy to hear these jingles in good audio quality.
November 4, 2009 at 9:43 pm #70969ratnobMemberMagnificent additions – a real treat. Love the Z-93 image songs especially.

ABC “Still the One” promotional cuts (much loved on this site!)OK, be careful what you wish for. We have just posted more about “Still The One” than any sane person would want to know or hear. Enjoy.
November 30, 2009 at 6:18 pm #71338GlennaMemberCareful Jon; We're getting spoiled.
Oh heck we already are!!!!
Thanks a bundle.November 30, 2009 at 8:32 pm #71340IainJohnstonMember“We have just posted more about “Still The One” than any sane person would want to know or hear”
Thats why we're “Still Jingle-MAD” Jon! :^)
No wonder there's quite a few Collectors who like to dream-up lyrics for a Personal Cut re-sing of the “still un-available” “Still The One” main cut!
Even at 30 years old, those cuts are spine-tingling – But how many have known of the existance of all those (ABC-only) re-sings and the mentioned short variants too?
And anyone who can turn “technical manual wording” like “The picture in modern photography is clear” into a jingle lyric, and sing it, with gusto, has to be a true professional. As ever, just sheer CLASS! :^)
(Any more “specials” likely to appear as part of the “35 Years” goodies Jon???)
November 30, 2009 at 9:02 pm #71342BarrasI know a certain Jinglemadder in Sheffield UK (BigDave) who will be happy hearing “Still The One” JAM jingle audio and reading the information – I am too !
Thanks Jon…excellent !!!!
December 1, 2009 at 12:52 pm #71349BigdaveJon…what a fantastic early christmas present.
Many of us have admired this small but extremely significant piece of work since hearing the original short cut on the 20th anniversary CD,but this has far exceeded anything that I was expecting.
My regards and gratitude must go to you for posting this…this only goes to cement the fact that JAM are “still the one” for jingles!
