MemberAwww. The signature sound of 80’s Radio . . . JAM jingles !!
Thanks for the great montage.January 28, 2019 at 1:24 pm #86732MorganOCTL
MemberWOW! These are really nice, and the cuts flow so well with the music. The “Skywave” #10 resing is clever with the sonovox ending. I also like how they use alternate mixes. Too many radio stations, if they even use jingles, just use the full mixes without taking advantage of all the mixout options. Thanks for the montage!

THANKS Gameswizzard!
Those amazingly creative tight short cuts worked superbly then…. and still work perfectly now!
+ thank goodness someone in a ‘suit’ believes in spending money on a decent sized package!!

Look out for an iHeart Christmas montage soon from that particular stream.
They’re using some very festive JAM cuts from what I’ve already heard!January 28, 2019 at 9:38 pm #86656rak
MemberNice jingles, but TBH it’s not something I’d listen to very often. I’d rather listen to Broadway Bill doing the ’80s thing, with some personality.

MemberGreat stuff for sure! Thanks for posting!
The ’60s, ’70s, and ’90s channels didn’t have this much variety when I last listened to them. I’ll have to see if they’ve re-upped, but it’s not surprising that they’d give the most attention to the ’80s channel.

MemberThanks gameswizard, a cool montage. Those jingles work perfectly with 80s hits (sonovox making them even better), I just wish a human was operating the mixer- you could get a bus through that gap before Wham!

I want a purely 70’s station to listen to…Just out of interest do these other iHeart decades play JAM Jingles?
January 30, 2019 at 12:33 pm #86489mjb1124
MemberYeah, the ones from the ’60s to ’90s all have their own JAM/PAMS jingles, including ’70s. The other decades just have a smaller selection of cuts, at least last I heard. Iheart50s also uses some edits of the ’60s cuts.

I’ve put a iHeart70s montage on my list.

MemberNow if only the UK Heart 80s had Jingles like this lol?

MemberSome live personalities would definitely enhance the stations, but for a free online-only service, I’ll take it. The imaging and music mix feel a lot more lively than most classic hits stations these days, so that makes up for it.

MemberI will say that this has the most lively-sounding presentation of the decade channels, with better sweepers/liners and a wider variety of jingles. Seems to be the only one of these channels they’re really treating as a priority, though it’s nice that they at least gave the ’60s, ’70s, and ’90s ones a few jingles of their own.

It was introduced at least two years ago.

I know, that why I said new Top of the Hour (as in it has changed).
Plus it’s now heard in full rather than an edited version in the montage. -
