Not a jingle question, and a bit of a long shot, but can anyone with a bigger anorak than me identify this production library music track which was used a lot in the 80s ?

February 15, 2018 at 12:46 am #102542jonnoMemberAuthorChannel 4 used a number of Andy Clark’s tracks during the test card periods in the early days
This particular peice may have featured on channel 4 but I remember it as it was used as the theme tune for Motortalk, a weekly motoring magazine programme on Radio Victory in the 80s.

When Red Rose Radio launched on Tuesday 5th October 1982 this was used, for a few years, for the news headlines bed. It was slightly edited to give a shorter mix (around 6.5 seconds was removed).
The edit ended up like this:

Together with a news opening sting, this gave a 30 seconds run up to the news.I also heard “Success Factor” used on a radio commercial, too. I can’t remember the product though.

Ah-ha!
I’ve got that news-in sequence on a number of my old aircheck cassettes from times being in the Preston area. Now I know why the news-in bed didn’t sound like the actual jingle package (Cath Baxter???), although a “custom”
UK package with an instrumentally six-note logo on a 5-sylable station name did sound “wrong!” to me.February 16, 2018 at 1:09 pm #102552gameswizardMember(Cath Baxter???)
Sue Manning, I believe.
February 16, 2018 at 1:41 pm #102553IainJohnstonThanks GW – I never could tell ’em apart!
February 17, 2018 at 2:32 pm #102557mbMemberI’m sure it was used for Warrington-runcorn newtown – and at the end the invitation to call the famous Eileen Bilton
February 17, 2018 at 6:55 pm #102558jonnoMemberAuthor..and how many local radio stations have used this as a theme for their business programmes?
