KOSF/103.7 has flipped to an all-80s station serving San Francisco. They use the same package of jingles from JAM that the digital platform is using for the IHeartRadio 80s. http://www.big1037.com if you want to listen.

June 7, 2016 at 8:33 am #100249tyty21hey neal, you must’ve caught this one at takeoff. I can admit, the jingles are few, and far apart, but they’re just getting started! give it time, then they’ll get in to high gear, I hope! it seems though, that they’re taking a cue from they’re sister station in Salt Lake City, UT, 94.1 KODJ, and using a composite. So far, I’ve heard a cut from turbo Z, and Warp Factor. While KODJ is all over, cuts from Skywave, Turbo Z, Warp Factor, Flamethrower, and Fresh Kiss. Here’s an interesting thing you might see, Salt Lake’s other classic hits station, Broadway Media’s KYMV, Rewind 100.7, is using Jam, but they’re using Breakthrough! I see a current day incarnation of a certain station war of the 80’s and early 90’s from the east coast, can you spot it?
June 7, 2016 at 4:58 pm #100250mjb1124MemberAt least as of last night, it seemed like they were only using two jingles per hour, including the Turbo Z TOH. The other cut I heard was Skywave cut 5, both the full version and an acapella mixout. I also heard the launch montage play again at 6 PM Pacific. I do like the music and imaging (is that Dave Foxx I hear in there?), but hopefully there will be a bit more of the jingles by the time the jocks start.
As for KODJ, I also heard a Z World cut when I listened a little while back. Also heard Breakthrough on Rewind… ironically, KODJ has used that package in the past. I assume you’re alluding to the Z100/WPLJ battle in the 80’s.

oh yeah! i knew you’d get it!
June 7, 2016 at 11:01 pm #100252tyty21MJB, on the jingle side of things for the 2 UT stations, yes, it’s like that, but as for imaging, that’s a no. As for KOSF, that totally sounds like Dave to me. I would’ve thought if they were gonna do 80’s, they would’ve taken the cue from their other sister in Albuquerque, and use somebody like Mitch, or some others like Mark Driscal, Joe Van Riper, or some of the others that are still living, but who’s done a station VO in that period, but hey, Dave’s done this before, and he’s got it!

Yes. Also iHeart60s, iHeart70s, and iHeart90s.

seems that iheart is taking the sirius/XM approach for their decades channels, I love it!
June 10, 2016 at 4:29 pm #100274mjb1124MemberBeen sampling the channels… heard a PAMS Jet Set cut on IH60S, various 80s Z packages on IH80s, and two Z World cuts on IH90s. I also am liking the music variety on each of these channels more than your typical modern “classic hits” playlist. I’ll definitely be a regular listener.
Incidentally, I realized the 80s channel is also broadcasting on WLTW-HD2 in New York, which means that some of the same jingles are heard on two terrestrial stations from competing operators in the same market. (The other being WCBS-FM of course.). Not that HD radio gets a lot of listeners or anything, but I still found that interesting.

The JAM jingles from iHeart 80’s (WLTW HD2) are included in a few NYC bandscans from the last few months or so…
Enjoy!
