[oh well back to the drawring board][/b]May 6, 2006 at 10:15 am #20656gameswizardMemberim getting an error message when trying to upload at the moment 👿
May 6, 2006 at 1:10 pm #20662DavidHemsleyWe are having problems with the dedicated upload feature at the moment.
You *may* be able to upload to our server, but we here are not actually seeing (or rather hearing) any audio, hence why the uploads are not showing in the new list.
I am confident that Roy is looking into the problem, but in the meantime I ask that you upload to your own webspace and link to the files in that way.

HOW DO I DO THIS
May 15, 2006 at 4:42 pm #20805gameswizardMemberset up a free account here:
http://filelodge.bolt.com/index.php?pg=p6
then upload your jingles etc… as mp3’s.
when you’ve uploaded,go to your ‘my files’ section and you’ll see what you’ve uploaded.
right click the link (this will be the file name of what you uploaded) and choose copy shortcut.
then come back to jinglemad (it’s best it you have two web pages open for this/or used tabbed browsing via firefox or internet explorer 7 especially if you wanna add multiple links) then in the box where you type, right click and choose ‘paste’ and the link will appear where the typing cursor is.but try this aswell:
instead of someone clicking on an ugly long link do this:
type:
then after the equals symbol, right click where the typing cursor is and ‘paste’ the link.at the end of the link,
type:
“>
after typing ],type a name eg Radio 1 Jingle
then type the folowing:when you submit, you wont see the long ugly link but a nice:
Radio 1 Jingle
when people click this,it will automatically download onto their pc,if they right click it,they can save it to their pc first, then ‘open’ it when it’s done.May 15, 2006 at 7:00 pm #20808DavidHemsleyI have to add – please upload files to a place that you will be keeping them for some time – and not temporary servers . . ..
May 15, 2006 at 7:12 pm #20809gameswizardMemberi used to use streamload but they’re rubbish unless you pay for the service.
filelodge/bolt give you 500MB free storage.
occasionally, for maintenance, files may appear temporarily unavailable.May 15, 2006 at 7:33 pm #20810DavidHemsleygameswizard wrote: i used to use streamload but they’re rubbish unless you pay for the service.
You a freeloader then? You want service – you gotta pay for it, like most of us do.

What?????!!!!! Why shouldn’t you pay? Streamload is not rubbish at all. It is the most reliable service out there. 99% of the audio on mp3airchecks is hosted with Streamload. I cannot recommend them highly enough. In the two years since mp3airchecks was set up, it’s only been down for 5 minutes.
Since we started using the service, I’ve noticed that a few other people on Jinglemad have jumped onto Streamload too, because it’s an easy way to host files plus it’s safe and secure. What really annoys me is that people want stuff for free. Well it doesn’t work like that. Do what everyone else does and pay.

Eh? Make your mind up It’s either ‘rubbish” or it’s “excellent”!!!

i’m talking about the excellent filelodge/bolt service.
i used to use streamload but the free service they offer is not so good.
we dont all have fat wallets.and im not gonna pay for a service for which for me wouldn’t be cost effective.
my own webspace provided by bt yahoo that i used to use was rubbish cos they only allowed about 8 downloads an hour so i dont use that anymore either.May 15, 2006 at 10:32 pm #20817gameswizardMemberNeal wrote: Streamload is not rubbish at all. It is the most reliable service out there.
as far as the free service goes, it aint so good.

I certainly don`t have a “fat wallet” but continue with Streamload as I enjoy sharing jingles and audio with other people and collectors. Personally, I still get a buzz out of doing that and probably always will and
I don`t mind paying just over £5.00 a month for Streamload, class it as getting a couple of drinks at the bar from me !!!The only down-side to Streamload that I find (some of you won`t know this and some of you will !) is that the uploaded files are visible to the public 24 hours-a-day, it`s part of the open-policy agreement with Streamload.
The only files you can store that are secret to yourself are in the “MY FILES” section and obviously you need a personal pass-word to access that.

Is there any update please?
