In the early 90s commercial stations went on the air in The Netherlands, Europe. RTL Group started a Classic Pop/Rock station but chose a country package to brand it: JAM’s Mile High for KYGO. Top Format totally refitted the cuts with brass and rock guitars. Here is how it sounded on air in 1991. Some cuts are from my own archives, not all cuts were ever aired at all…

I remember these jingles on RTL Netherlands which sounded great on air. I used to listen via their Astra Satellite Feed which used to show the DJ on air in the studio on the TV screen, I guess an early version of what now would be a webcam on an Internet audio webstream. It was funny one day watching one of their presenters having a strop hissy fit tantrum in the studio whilst on air I guess because of studio equipment not working properly and forgetting he was being watched by TV viewers on the satellite telly feed. It made very funny viewing especially watching his fist bang the studio desk lol!

In one cut Top Format even reworked the American national anthem into the Dutch one. Great station and great fun!

Possibly Top Format best ever resings of a JAM package. Fantastic vocals. Thanks for posting Marc

Thanks Ian! I remember someone telling me the vocal group was arranged as a NINE vocal group, but I cannot verify that.
The weathercut is from a Z100 package, they rerecorded the instrumental audio logo sections for this package.

Nine vocal! I heard TM on demos mention ’28 voice style’ too
